Mercury Retrograde in your zone of friendships and groups. Your social life, and your formal circles of people, as well as fixed communities – AC/DC or the Conservative party. At its most diluted level, this cycle, this week – brings no-shows, reversed promises, and a misleading information overload. At its most dramatic, Mercury Retrograde in the Eleventh House of friends in the week of a Full Moon, opposite the Sun (also in the Eleventh House) can find you signing on Monday and facing a backflip on Friday. The social media world in general is more chaotic now – if you are even on Facebook at all, there may be reversals, waiting games or constant changes until mid-March. This all has a domino effect, which can result in strange developments in your own social life. The group matters so much in 2021. It’s everything. So is the friendship inside it, or just outside it. You’ll get an incredible amount of information about the person you make a priority now, or the circle, just by talking – or Googling. If your priority is your old group or former friend, even, you’ll be amazed at how much you can find out about his/her situation. Mercury will provide you with the sources, contacts, networks and information, if you are prepared to put in the work until mid-March. Treat this time as a complete dress rehearsal to get the most from it. This is not the final outcome. Try to put off commitments until mid-March if you can.

Neptune in Pisces suggests no boundaries with others in the group. You’re all in it together, all over the place, all the time. There’s at least one friend involved. Neptune is very much about gut feelings, hunches, omens or psychic information – and on this cycle, Taurus, this is just as important as rational thinking, so you need to honour this side of life as well. If you can combine your left brain and right brain successfully, you could also make real progress with the constant quest to clarify, organise, order and keep control. Friends and others in the group, produce all sorts of emotions in us, but right now, you can think your way through the situation and get answers. Sensible outsiders, or very savvy friends outside your group, can be useful sources. We also have a Full Moon now in your zone of career, success, study and unpaid work. Jupiter is alongside. This way out or way through will work out for you. It will take time. Mercury is retrograde. Allow until at least mid-March if you want to retire, resign, take up a new role, accept a promotion, gig and so on. This is a really good time for a dress rehearsal period.

Your ruler Mercury is retrograde in your zone of foreign people and places, regional differences, education, publishing and the web. This also applies to the state of play with academia. You are undoubtedly going to find some backwards beeping signals on your radar at this time, because various discussions, letters, e-mails, calls or actual meetings will be unfolding, then stopping, then changing, or even vanishing – by mid-March. This is not a good time to make or accept promises, without Plan A or B. I do not even need to mention the pandemic, in terms of travel. If you are involved in a situation which will cost you time or money (or emotional angst if it does not go as you wish, this week – now – then do not do anything without Plan B, C and D. It’s not just the general atmosphere of uncertainty or global chaos which now surrounds you that could cause problems – it’s the worldwide traffic jam of billions of people who don’t use Mercury Retrograde, getting the timing way out. There will be x factors you cannot possibly know about, now having a domino effect on you, and your life (and your people problems too.) All the more reason to delay big decisions. This is a really good dress rehearsal week. There is a massive, spectacular answer for your questions about foreign, regional, internet, academic or publishing questions coming. It will take time. We also have a Full Moon now. That’s a stretch. Have faith in a stunning solution, Gemini, but be aware of flux until mid-March.

Mercury is a useful planet, but it is hopelessly unhelpful when retrograde, and that’s where he is now, tied up with your apartment, your income, your taxes, your house, charity commitment, insurance and so on. What would normally make rational, logical sense and be done in three weeks, will take until mid-March to settle, once and for all, in detail. Because this planet is now triggering financial, business or property matters in your life, you need to be aware of this week as not only a Full Moon, financially – but also time to treat life as a useful dress rehearsal. There will be quite a lot of gossip and loose talk now, most of it about a financial, business, share market, budget or property question which is on your agenda. People will change their minds, or you will change yours – don’t write anything in stone, unless you actually like floundering. This period can and will work out for you, Cancer. The year 2021 will reward your efforts in pursuing solutions and epic answers, with all the optimism you can find, as a tremendous outcome is on the way. This week is right on the line for you because of the Full Moon, and you are ruled by the Moon, but you also need to know that if you can deal with the flux until mid-March, the sweeping answer to the serious question will reward your hopes.

This is a sometimes frustrating period with rescheduling, flux or even reversals by mid-March. It’s really good for dress rehearsals. For the rest, jury is out. Can you choose another time? If you must be on the move, professionally or academically, however, do read the small print, and take sensible precautions before you commit. The middle of March is really the final, final detail commitment and until then you have flux. Mercury rules cars, trucks, bicycles, motorbikes, boats, ships, aeroplanes and helicopters – so you can see why its backward motion, in your house of daily routine, can also turn your life back to front until mid-March. This cycle also describes the relationship you have with people from other companies or organisatios. The potential for reversals or changed minds is very high with these people now! Give yourself a safety net if a decision is pending. Treat this week, with its Full Moon accompaniment, as beta testing. That’s an excellent way to use your time. And go on testing, right through February. This can and does work out really well for you long-term, Virgo. Jupiter protects. Jupiter also offers you the massive solution that puts the current hard question in friendly perspective. It just takes a bit of time.

This is probably the networking cycle for parents, godparents, aunts, uncles or grandparents. This also applies to any paid or unpaid work involving children, teenagers, Millennials. The networking is backwards and stuck. Yet it works for you, even if now through mid-March is muddled.

Keep every bit of paperwork, especially if the children’s’ schools are involved, or their college/university term. This is a dress rehearsal. Libra, keep the reply to every e-mail. Information about your children, or the younger faces in your professional world – which is hard to get at other times – will be parked right under your nose now. It is an excellent time to assume it will be re-parked later. Do gather your sources and examine your options. Later on, when he is direct, Mercury will help you to analyse everything objectively. This is going to work out really well for you, long-term. The sweeping answer to a serious question will benefit you and others at the largest level possible. Yet, for now, Mercury Retrograde rules. Allow for Plan B, C and D with the young, or even with a sexual relationship that could end in pregnancy or step-parenting.

Chiron in Aries is making his presence felt again.
If you have a part-time or full-time job, the atmosphere will be so wildly experimental at times that it may be hard to remember where you put your old 2020 experiment – or your 2020 brain. It must seem like a long time ago now! Expect a lot of new, new ‘news’ about those projects, plans and goals which most concern you, as well as your particular field, industry or workplace. The Full Moon you see this week has a lot to do with that. Give yourself more time and space when you see it.

Scorpio, there will also be quite a lot of gossip and debate, about your house, apartment, family, household, town and/or country but it is unwise to take it seriously when Mercury is misbehaving. What appears to be a done deal (your flatmate/roommate is definitely leaving) or a final conclusion (your old real estate agency is definitely expanding) may not be so. This cycle is best used by standing well back, taking mental notes, and waiting for the dust to settle! Then, and only then (when Mercury is direct) should you make final, final decisions. That is the middle of March. Until then, we are in flux. Long-term this situation with the clan, or the home, or property will work out incredibly well for you. A serious question generates the most wonderful, sweeping outcome. For now, though, do have Plan B, C, D, prepared.

A plan involving the internet, publishing, the media, education or academia will take up your mental energy now as it will be in flux until mid-March. If you are permanently involved with some kind of deadline project that is supposed to come good before then, and it’s central to your life, then do use this time to find solutions to all those unanswered questions you may have.

We also have a Full Moon this week so it’s a really big stretch for you with the web, with the media, and even basics like your telephone or computer. An issue will arise which involves a lot of debate or gossip shortly and is very much about your course or project. Now, thinking more logically and rationally is usually your response, but this time around – life is a dress rehearsal.

This cycle can also bring a period of hibernation, as you remove yourself from the outside world and turn your attention to your inner world instead. You might take a sabbatical, claim sick, check into a spa, do your COVID-19 duty at home – or just spend a lot of time sitting in your room with the door locked! You may also be researching a retreat of some kind – a period of time in your life, or a special place, where you hope to find some solitude and privacy. The Twelfth House rules the time we spend by ourselves, when we discover who we really are, without other people. It describes a private encounter with your own soul. For this reason, you may also be curious about any of the following areas now: dreams, mediumship, tarot, astrology, psychology, hypnosis, psychiatry and so on. If it all feels familiar, that is because it is. You were back here in 2002. You may even have been here in previous lifetimes. The cycle ends in January 2022, by which time you will be completely across your soul, spirit or psyche. This week is a good time to appreciate it, no matter how stuck you might feel. Inward, Capricorn, inward.

The reversals, delays, rescheduling and rethinking of Mercury Retrograde in Aquarius, goes on until mid-March when the final detail is confirmed. This period will also affect your plans to relaunch, either with help, or by yourself. If you want to organise a ‘new me’ for 2021 then keep your plans flexible, because what is apparently in place now, could change in the next few weeks. This also applies to anything already in motion – perhaps your new Twitter account or weight loss is already under way. When it is travelling backwards, Mercury has a funny way of up-ending things, though. At best, you can waste your precious time, as you go back to the drawing board, or deal with other people’s flaky behaviour. At worst, everything can go into a big loop. For a simple life, astrologers suggest that you organise your ‘me, me, me’ time when Mercury goes direct again. This can and does work out really well for you. This year is your biggest, best relaunch and rebranding in over a decade. For now, though, have Plan B, C and D about yourself.

Neptune in Pisces, your own sign, will be crucial in determining how you are rated and reviewed. You’re the book that gets judged by its cover at the moment. Equally, you can see how your involvement with a ‘certain’ person in your life can also define you, to those who are watching. This cycle is about image, reputation, branding, name, photographs, the media, YouTube, Twitter profiles and the rest. The mirror.
If you go into this cycle with a new publicist, hairdresser, make-up artist, trainer, cosmetic surgeon – anything! – then you’ll know this person is your test. What test? Well, it’s about total clarity and absolute reality. Not really your thing, Pisces, but you have to try and keep ‘Me’ real if at all possible. Don’t screw it up with the world of non-reality and do whatever you must, to make sure boundaries are there. Boundaries is a magic word in 2021. We also have Mercury Retrograde and a Full Moon in the chart zone ruling religion, spirituality, psychics, the Tarot, mediums, psychologists and therapists. Similar areas, like meditation and dream interpretation, also fall here. Have Plan B, C and D for all this as it’s a long and winding road now. It won’t be until mid-March that it all settles in any fixed and final way.
