Keep moving. You are now ready to talk, or sign, Aries, and the important news, paperwork or discussion will roll very close to 1st May, and again near 4th May. Beyond the actual numbers, there are other concerns which have less to do with additions and subtractions, or divisions – and much more to do with independence.
This matter is very likely public, or at least on show to others, who give useful feedback or reaction. That helps you see the house, money, apartment, possessions, charity or business as others see it. The faster you can adapt and adjust, and clarify what or who matters most to you (far beyond a price tag or cost) the better.
In fact, the first seven days of May will see alternatives, new experiments and exciting options that were not there before. You are a fire sign, ruled by Mars and well-known for shining in situations which are not for the faint-hearted. Well, go forward into this electrical storm and find a way to channel what is happening, into a new approach to all that you earn, own or owe.
The Full Moon you see overnight near May 7th is about two things. One of them is your own life budget, or value system. What you will (or refuse to) sell your soul for. Who or what you considered to be ‘a pearl beyond price.’ Maybe it’s your own integrity. Perhaps it’s your child. Everyone has a budget.
The other issue near May 7th is possibly marriage and mortgage, but it might also just be sex and money. We also need to get real about a Full Moon in Scorpio and accept that those Will Kits in the newsagent aren’t going to write themselves!
Similarly, you may become aware of legacies which name you too. It’s time to be practical and down-to-earth about such matters and roll up your sleeves and grab a pen. Yet, Aries, take your time. You are allowed to sit and ponder before you make firm decisions. This applies no matter if we’re talking about a passionate relationship with some kind of house or apartment question connected to it, or the sensible business of sorting things out with older relatives.
A Full Moon is a full stop. It is pause for thought. Don’t rush or push yourself or accept any of that from others. If you must go ahead with some kind of intricate negotiation or decision, though, you may prefer to avoid the 6th, 7th, 8th of May – just because there are easier times to try and sort out the numbers, or the material world in your life.
Near the 26th of May 2020, it becomes clear that something is going to Live Forever to quote Oasis. Sure, there is a revolution taking place which is liberating you or others. The known world is turning upside-down. Just in case there was any doubt that this is a long-term outcome, though, the Psyche-Uranus conjunction near the 26th shows that some situations outlast all of us. Something writes itself into immortality as the month ends. What emerges will reflect the very real need for you, or others, to be a free spirit.
Aries, there is a definite split between the first half of May and the last half. The first half is all about the numbers and how you reshape your life budget. How you pivot! In the second half of the month you will begin a new pathway, probably online, and perhaps involving multimedia, the book world, or your ability to teach or study in a new way. That New Moon on May 22nd is pretty potent. Why? Because it comes at a time when you hit a 19-year cycle.
In fact, about a week later, you’ll likely realise you’ve been here before. This may have been a course you studied or taught about two decades ago, depending on your age. If you are literally around age 19 then this is past life stuff. For all we know, you were a scribe in Ancient Egypt or a lady novelist in 20th century Bloomsbury.
These cycles, involving the Node, usually hark back to a previous life, no matter if it was about 19 years ago, or 1900 years ago! The signs Gemini and Sagittarius, writ large in your chart, are about travel and travel in the mind. Foreign people, places and ideas. Different cultures and vast, far-reaching subjects. Books and the media. The internet and the world of words.
There is usually a concern with travel, tourism, exploration, immigration, adventure in the mix with these signs as well. This seems illogical to me, as I write your May prediction in April, with so many airports shut down. But – your horoscope shows what it shows. For some reason, the past is coming to meet you in the present, in the closing days of May and it will very much involve other regions or countries. Also, the lines of communication or connection. You’ve been here before. You really have. If not 19 years ago, then a lifetime ago. See what your dreams reveal to you.

What appears to be an issue about/for your partner, near May 7th, is actually about your image. Your title, brand or reputation. This may also be very much about your former partner or potential partner. We’re talking love or work here. Marriage or professional duet. A Full Moon always requires more time and space so create that on May 6th, 7th, 8th because this is ‘the big full stop in the sky’ you need to pause, before a decision.
Perhaps it’s just that the two of you have been thrown together so much, since March. Maybe you’ve had a wake-up call about an ex-partner, or a potential future partner. Taurus, other reasons for this big pause may well be financial, about the house, apartment or bank account.
Your opposite sign of Scorpio describes the chemistry you two share and the mix is more challenging at the end of the first week of May, because a Full Moon is always D-Day. The Sun is opposite the Moon then, so you may be at odds with yourself (but feel you must make a decision) or be quite single-minded about a matter, but find the other person is pulling the other way.
Let it pass. Do what you must. If you are a Premium Member. please do use your Astrology Oracle cards and guidebook, as your situation is obviously intensely personal, to you and the man (or woman) involved.
When I said that this was really about you, you, you (and the way you appear to the world) I meant it. Don’t be fooled into thinking this is about the marriage, or the work partnership, or whatever. As early as 1st May when Mercury conjuncts Uranus in Taurus, your own zodiac sign, you are going to see that the period around your birthday, or just before it, is a relaunch.
It is a relaunch fired from a cannon on an erratic timer. Fireworks included. Uranus is about all that is sudden, completely unexpected but also exhilarating. Try to buy into that feeling Taurus. There is a good XTC song which describes that sensation – like a rocket from a bottle, set free.
Yet, you are a fixed earth sign and you probably feel like digging your heels in, during this electrical storm. Try to keep moving, instead. Very close to 4th May you must put something in writing or find the words. That’s a real moment, in terms of how you are seen – and how you appear. By around the 7th of May it’s pretty clear to you and everyone else that although this is a “Me” issue it’s also a “We’ issue, or even a “Me versus you” issue which can happen as well. The month ends with another real moment, in terms of your reputation, name, title, appearance (perhaps how you physically look or dress) and the rest.
Taurus, try to go with this. There is no handbook. (Although you can use astrology to help). There is no manual or useful tour guide. This has never happened to you before and it will never happen again. That is not meant to make you dig your heels in any further. Instead, try to dance in the electrical storm as the lightning crackles overhead. You are being set free.
You may go, literally, independently into the new world. Depending on how confined you have been my matters of image, title, name and so on – you may shear away the past and step forward into a very new future. Uranus always brings freedom. Not some kind of compromise. Genuine liberty and liberation. Now, let’s talk about the money, house, business, charity, possessions or apartment.
Astrology is about timing. It has seen us through about 2000 years of history, and been there for all kinds of events, from various Wall Street transformations, to the rest. Obviously, the C-word is having an ongoing impact on your salary, rent, shares, mortgage, insurance and the rest.
The timing is right for a new direction from about May 22nd on the New Moon. Your ruler Venus, which describes complicated financial relationships, is also alongside Mercury – communication – on the same day. So, that’s really about the big discussion, the paperwork, the numbers or the sums.
The timing is right. What we are seeing here is karma, coming in from 19 years ago, and 19 years before that, and 19 years before that. It may not be evident so much when you’re talking or reading near the 22nd of May, but about a week later, near the 28th of May, you’re going to see everything plainly laid out.
The North Node and South Node in Gemini and Sagittarius respectively, will illustrate what you are owed, spiritually, and also what you owe others. Taurus people can be so generous. Among my Taurus friends I find charity donors, philanthropists and substantial fundraisers. If that is you, and particularly if you were involved in a major ‘give’ about 19 years ago, the universe will now give back.
Even if you were a child then or you were born then, you may bring useful past life karma with you into this existence, in which case you’ll know about it at the end of May. Why? Things line up for you with the apartment, money, house, possessions, business, insurance, taxation and so on.
If you are having a tough time with your finances, you are not alone. You are so very, very not alone, Taurus! Not only is everyone born under your sign having the same issues, you are part of a global group, destined to profoundly alter the way governments handle taxation. And offshore banking. And money laundering.
This is not just about you. You are connected to everyone else and there are solutions. The 19-year rule is a good one, because you can look back to life around 2001, and see a pattern. What worked then? What didn’t work? Repeat, or don’t repeat, that strategy.
The solutions are very much about karma with family members, friends, colleagues, the bank itself, your partner, former partner or potential partner – which I discussed above. This will take a bit of sorting out, Taurus, but it will be okay.
You have woken up, along with Scorpio people, to find that you are at the heart of the biggest shift to the work economy in anybody’s adult lifetime. Of all the 12 signs you are best equipped to make this work, for yourself and those around you. You will.

Gemini, I will start at the end of the month, as very close to May 28th, you can expect a really important discussion, letter, email or piece of news which involves your other half. Perhaps – your former partner. Maybe – your potential partner. If you can see a set of scales in your mind’s eye, you’ll also see what’s ahead. Those scales need to be balanced, and it will take you until January 2022 to do so. Take your time. Start the gentle business of tilting the scales West, then East. Left, then right. What you are weighing here is what is fair. What is only right.
This partnership (be it former, current or potential) may be sexual. So, we’re talking the usual things. Marriage or even the outcome of a one-night stand if a pregnancy occurred. More typically this cycle is about common-law marriage, so – living together.
The partnership can also be professional. A work duet. Again, this may belong to your past, present or potential future. The need for symmetry and harmony is very great, as May ends.
This is the famous North Node and South Node cycle. The South Node is now in Sagittarius, your opposite sign, and so there will be a sense of Deja vu or odd familiarity about what takes place with this crucial person. It’s as if you know what is going to happen next, or you’ve heard that script before. If you are curious about the cycle do look up North Node on Search when you finish reading this, Gemini.
I suspect that life around the year 2001 may be having an impact, karmically. We may also be talking about past lives. Karma is your spiritual bank account. What you owe, or are owed, according to previous actions, taken about 19 years ago as a rule (on this cycle). If you are actually 19 years old, or you were a child then, we may be looking at past lives. This might explain the intense familiarity or repetitive nature of what you experience with, or for, this person, from the end of May.
The reckoning up, spiritually, and the settlement – emotionally – comes in stages, but I think this date, May 28th, is really important, as Mercury is conjunct the North Node and opposite the South Node then. And Mercury is your ruling planet. What is said or written down is tremendously important between you, then.
Just before this happens, and no doubt you two are both feeling the full emotional impact of this very peculiar year – you have some classic ‘me’ questions to resolve. This takes place on the New Moon on the 22nd of May and there may also be another ‘collection’ as they say, near May 28th, when you’re also talking about/to this crucial person in your life.
So time it right. Take a deep breath and park those image issues later in May, not earlier. Astrology is really about timing and you can’t possibly be expected to sort everything out at once. As June arrives, though – and with it your birthday coming closer – you are absolutely entitled to think about a relaunch. In fact, what you discuss, hear or read on May 21st, 22nd, 23rd is part of that. Now, let’s look at something nobody else can see. Your inner life.
You have some patterns in your Twelfth House of soul, spirit and solitude that you’ve not experienced very much, in your adult lifetime. You will need more time to yourself, even if you weren’t at home anyway, and more importantly, some headspace to yourself. This means focusing on your core. Your spirit or soul. Don’t do head miles about the supermarket or the money. Instead, try to lie or sit as peacefully and meditatively as you can, and listen to yourself, at the deepest level.
This may be about religion or astrology for you. It may be about your own personal beliefs or faith, which can be a combination of Buddhism, science, and anything else that speaks to you. It’s personal. It’s your soul.
Close to May 1st when your ruler Mercury is conjunct Uranus, you can expect to be set free on some level. This may be freedom from conditioned beliefs about God from your childhood. Perhaps it’s the exhilaration of finding something new, to trust and know. People, equally, find God or Goddess on this kind of cycle. Your ruler Mercury again joins the Sun on May 4th, so we’re talking about a diary moment here. Perhaps, a conversation with a confidante.
As much as the Twelfth House is associated with religion, it is also very much about psychology, psychiatry, spirituality, counselling and self-help. You get the picture.
The Full Moon, which you will see building in the first week of May, becomes exact on the 7th of May, and I’ll look at the impact of that on your lifestyle, workload, health and wellbeing next. For now, just know that the first week is a process. It’s about your naked truth. Who you are, without the wardrobe or the role, the title or the trappings. What is locked in the safe at home? Your locked filing cabinet.
If you thought this all required a lot more diary room, you are correct. Do create it for yourself. Schedules may have to be put far, far behind as you deal with what requires solitude. Deep inner space. You are being set free. This is revolutionary. Take your time.
The Full Moon in Scorpio on May 7th tells you, there is no perfect lifestyle. There is no perfect 100% scorecard with your doctor, healer, nurse, trainer, therapist, dentist and so on. Just make the decisions you must, weighing up all the factors. You can bet there will be a long list of pros and cons. A classic example would be choosing to go raw vegan. Another example might be letting go of an entire way of life, at the gym, the tennis court, the golf course and the rest.
Any Full Moon is D-Day. If you are curious about that, look up Full Moon on Search when you finish reading this. I’ve written quite a lot about these lunar phenomena over the years. It’s not just food, drink, drugs, doctors, healers, fitness and the rest. It’s also your workload. Paid work, housework, unpaid work, voluntary work, and the work of study – being a full-time student.
In astrology, we don’t separate that from your health and fitness. So, this Full Moon is a big one. You have two clear choices. Fork in the road time. A really good example of this might be deciding to step away from a work project or task, because you feel you should be at home. You’ll have your own story and if you are a Premium Member look at anything in Virgo in your chart. All the information you need is on this website, to decode that.

Cancer, you are ruled by the Moon, so the Full Moon on the 7th of May is very important, in terms of the necessary reshaping of friendships, group commitments, your social life and social media. You can see the Moon building in size and brightness from May 1st, and in fact you would be having one of the year’s most important discussions, emails, letters or Twitter ‘breaking news’ messages around that time. Where is this taking you? Freedom. Independence.
This is the cycle when you find liberation ‘through’ or liberation ‘from’ and it works both ways. If you have a friend who fences you in, makes life seem so limited, confines you in any way – then I think it’s highly unlikely that the situation can go on. You may find the ‘friendship’ is no more, Cancer. Or, perhaps, you’ll both find a way to reinvent what is there.
It works the other way too. You can make new friends, or join new groups, which exhilarate you with their promise of new freedom. This is rather like being in New York in the year 1781 and realising that you could join in with like-minded people in some kind of revolution. A revolution for liberty and progress.
Groups and social media go together like Parmesan and wine. Sometimes they work for you, and sometimes they work against you. I think you’ll spend the first week of May deciding all that. We could include Zoom (the new technology) in this. Uranus is a symbol for high-tech innovation and new inventions, and in Taurus it’s quite clear you’ll be picking and choosing from all the new online options. Or – walking away. If you don’t feel free or independent, then that is also possible.
This freedom theme with Uranus is powerful in May and it specifically involves one friendship, as part of a wider circle or group. Of course, it may be that a club, team, band, community, ensemble cast, political party, charity (or similar) splinters around you and you see breakaways.
I do think the Full Moon on May 7th is the point of no return for you, your friend, or the wider circle of people. There is no ‘perfect’ on a Full Moon. Just a decision.
If you are curious about Uranus in your horoscope hit Search and take a look. If you are a Premium Member, you can also look at this planet in your library of guidebooks.
Your Independence Day is coming. You will find ‘freedom from’ or ‘freedom through’ in May and you must look forward not back.
The Full Moon in Scorpio on May 7th is about ‘the imperfect but necessary decision’ regarding your godchildren or stepchildren. Your son or daughter. Your sexual relationship (the one where you might become pregnant, or see a pregnancy, or find that deeper commitment leads to step-parenting).
We also include paid or unpaid work involving children, teenagers or young people in this cycle. So, a charity for adolescents, perhaps, or a teaching role. It’s as much about babies and infants, in astrology, as it is about schoolchildren, teenagers or younger people – Generation Y, or the other generations the internet keeps talking about.
The Moon is a symbol of great need. Instinctive, pure, need. In fact, it is about ‘the need to be needed’, and those of you who are mothers, born from late June through late July, will really feel this Full Moon quiet powerfully. Give yourself a lot of time and space. We go into areas like unplanned and unwanted pregnancy on this Full Moon sometimes. There are more obvious issues, now, like the education of your children, or your younger nieces and nephews.
As I said, forget about some kind of fantasy 100% solution. All you can really do is be kind to yourself, find all the peace and quiet possible to make your choice, and be kind to others as well. Understand that a Full Moon is well-known for raising the emotional temperature and try to see that those around you may also be experiencing that.
If you can choose any time at all to discuss, or act upon, issues which affect you as a lover, mother, father, aunt, uncle, grandparent, teacher, coach – and the rest – then skip the Full Moon. It’s just more hard work. That’s all. But if you have to go in and make your choice, know that it will be absolutely the right one if you take your time. Premium Member? You can use The Astrology Oracle cards and guidebook to help, because obviously your situation is intensely personal, to you.
Well, Cancer, this is probably going to be about your God – or your other private faith, belief or soul-stuff. For some of you it may be about great trust in a quantum universe, knowing that so much of what you are experiencing is just the world you have chosen!
On a more down-to-earth level, we could be talking about the church you were born into, or educated with. This cycle, which begins on May 22nd, is also about astrology. It is about mediumship and Buddhism. Judaism and psychology. Self-help, psychology and psychiatry.
It is about the conversation you have with yourself late at night, or when you have woken up and remembered a dream. It is about Conversations With God if you have the books. None of this is external or obvious. Very close to the 22nd of May, unless you have a confidante, I don’t even think those around will know what is going on.
We then move to May 28th and some karma. The karma goes back to around the year 2001, and then further back in time, in 19-year brackets. This is the famous North Node and South Node cycle, which now shifts your experience of past lives – and the past itself.
You’ll know it when you see it. The Twelfth House is very much about your secret life, Cancer. So, what you say in the confession box, or to a therapist. It may be about the esoteric; The Golden Dawn is as much a feature of the Twelfth House, as the Catholic Church, or your local astrologer, psychic or Tarot reader.
You will hear some of the most important news of the year, near May 28th, in respect of this. Or, you’ll read it, discuss it, or put your thoughts down online. If it all feels familiar, that is because it is. Old themes come back. Old soundtracks of your life return. You are pressing rewind or having the rewind button pressed for you.
The whole point is closure. Slowly but surely in 2020, 2021 and early 2022, you will come full circle with your inner self. Your inner life. Your soul. Your spirit. This is a kind of balancing, and the process is cyclical so in astrology we feel it extends into past lives. You’ll have your own story here.
I mentioned you were ruled by the Moon, and this New Moon on the 22nd of May is a birth, or rebirth. You might become a Born-Again Christian, for example. Or you might decide to shelve a particular cult you were involved with, for so many years. It’s on that level.
I’ll be on Twitter talking about this @jessicacadams on May 28th, so drop in if you want to look at your own personal birth chart. In general, the 28th of May brings a flashback about your lifestyle and workload. Again, this is a flashback going back 19 years or even into past lives.
You would not be human if you were not currently experiencing huge questions about the work you do. The shape you are in. Your housework. Your unpaid work. Study, likely at home. Doctors, nurses, dentists, healers, trainers, food, drugs, drink.
It’s all interconnected in astrology as this comes under the rulership of the Sixth House, in turn ruled by Sagittarius in your chart. So, when I see something as unusual as the South Node in Sagittarius, opposite Mercury on May 28th – the month will end on an unusual note.
Again, you are being taken back to around the year 2001, or further back, in 19-year loops. Perhaps into another incarnation. Astrology is ancient. It has been here for everything, from Roman plagues to the Wall Street transformation of the 1920s.
One of the things we know for sure about the cycle you are in now, is that it concerns your ‘fitness for duty’ and ability to serve. This necessarily involves looking after others, and sometimes in a hands-on way. And that brings in the C word, doesn’t it! This is going to be a big decision-making period for so many people born from late June to late July.
In other cases you are not in a service profession or caring industry, but you are absolutely mindful of your status as a machine. You are the human machine who must be serviced and maintained to fulfil your output. I have a couple of Cancer friends who are novelists. They can’t write if they don’t feel right.
So…you see. The 28th of May 2020 is a real moment in your year, because it’s going to remind you to look at the year 2001 (perhaps 2000 into 2002, depending on your personal birth chart) and certainly to think about any feelings of Deja vu or intense familiarity about your situation. You have been here before. Learn from the past.

You know, Leo, I have this theory that ‘pivot’ will end up being one of the words of the year. You’ll be doing it – even more – with your old position in the workforce, or with your unpaid work, or your studies. Pivot is actually going to be too mild a description for some of you, depending on your personal birth chart. In fact, as early as May 1st you could be turning your path to the top, or your place in the scheme of things, upside-down.
You may also find it inverts, and you land – where you are supposed to land. Leo, if ever there was a time to be nimble and flexible, this is it. You are a fixed sign and so tend to dislike too much change, but this month is about taking a deep breath and getting stuck into the revolution. There is no other word for it. This is on a par with the Industrial Revolution in 18th century Britain, or the American Revolution – the French Revolution too.
Your reward is freedom. Independence. Try to let memories of what was, before 2018, drift where they will. You really don’t want to be left behind in the new global economy, which is what we are seeing, quite dramatically, on the Full Moon.
You’re going to trade security and permanence for a life adventure and it will directly concern your career, unpaid work or course. It will also indirectly concern your status, rank and place in the scheme of things. After the 1st, which is like an electrical storm, zipping through your life, you get to a really important discussion or piece of paperwork – perhaps a digital document or piece of news – near May 4th.
The Full Moon on May 7th (allow 24 hours either side for your time zone) is a real crossroads for you. At that point you have to look at your apartment, family, house, town, country, household as well, and I’ll get onto that in a moment. Around the 7th of May, though, take everything you have felt and known (never mind what others are saying or doing) and put it to the test. There is no ‘perfect’ on a Full Moon.
Your ruler the Sun is opposite the Moon at such times. You may be dealing with polar opposites around you – or dealing with opposing points of view, within yourself. All you can do, is what you ultimately know is your best possible path. And it will be absolutely right for the year, and the times.
The month ends with a Psyche-Uranus conjunction in Taurus, the sign which rules your success, ambition, position and mission. What you create then in your reshaped path to the top, or your reshaped idea of achievement, is going to last for a very long time. In fact, it will outlast you, perhaps because it lives online. That is one possibility.
This cycle – the Uranus in Taurus cycle – has been around for astrologer to watch since 1781 when the planet was discovered. We have an awful lot of knowledge about it. One thing we know for sure is that when it arrives, you must pivot, spin, twist, twirl, stretch, bend and flex. Do not dig your paws in the ground and deny what is happening, or ignore it, or push back against it.
You can see the way the wind is blowing, Leo. You can see what’s going on out there in your usual profession, field, or special area. Uranus transits tend to lead us to the last thing anybody thought would happen. That is a good thing. Never say never. Actually ban ‘never’ from your vocabulary.
You will trade in the known world for the unknown world, all within a breathtaking first week of May. Yet you will also pump oxygen into your space, inhale deeply and feel genuinely free to explore – intellectually, spiritually, emotionally – for the first time in years. Actually, depending on your personal birth chart, for the first time in your entire adult life. Now, let’s look at home and family.
On May 7th, the Full Moon in Scorpio passes through your sector of home, family, property, household, town and country. The apartment or house. The local area, or your nationality, culture, roots and heritage. Also – particular relatives, flatmates/roommates or a live-in partner.
Give yourself a lot of time and space on May 6th, 7th, 8th to deal with this. A Full Moon is always D-Day. The most famous Full Moon in history fell on D-Day. There are only decisions which are personally right, not universally correct.
You reach your own conclusions and make your own judgments, then choose your path. If you take your time, it will prove to have been the truest path of all, from late October until late November, when your ruler the Sun goes across this area of your horoscope again. So, we’re talking long-term.
You may want to sell your residence. Reach agreement with a tenant or landlady. Sort something out substantially with the family. If you are a Premium Member then use your Astrology Oracle cards and guidebook, as your situation is obviously personal to you, and such choices require your own intuition.
Whatever conclusion you reach, on that Full Moon, will have to be tailored to the changing situation with your job, unpaid work or university/college degree. The Full Moon is opposite the Sun in that sector of your chart which rules your position, mission and ambition, as discussed.
Now, let’s look at two more historic changes in May. Friends and groups, at one end of your life, and children and young people, at the other. What a month.
You are now collecting good karma from 19 years ago, and 19 years before that, and into past lives. If you have a balance sheet where you need to spiritually repay or settle with particular friends (or groups) then you must now do some soul banking.
This is most obvious at the end of the month, Leo. On May 27th, 28th, 29th (depending on your time zone) you will discuss, write or read what matters most. The friend or the group is very likely involved in a soul contract with you, which you both/all made between lives. In astrology the North Node and South Node cycle are concerned with reincarnation.
If something small seems very big, that’s a sure sign. Cut from the actual issue (which may be relatively trivial) and look at the emotion. The feeling. That is your clue.
Associations, societies, clubs, teams, bands, political parties, charities and the like, are all in the frame as May ends.
You’ll begin something very new near the 22nd of May on the New Moon with, or for, or through these people. Of course, we’d have to expect that Twitter or Pinterest is involved for many Leo people.
Around May 22nd, one friendship or group involvement will feel more like a marriage or relationship. It’s that complicated. It’s more like mother and son. Wife and lover. Wife and husband. The karmic element will be evident about a week later, as you realise that you are revisiting something from 19 years ago, or actually reliving some kind of prior incarnation. Dreams often reveal it.
On May 28th, the South Node (also ruling karma) is opposite Mercury, and your soul debts and credits will concern your son or daughter. Your godchildren, grandchildren, nieces or nephews. Paid or unpaid efforts involving younger faces. We also include sexual relationships which might end in pregnancy or step-parenting, or adoption, in this cycle.
The North Node and South Node cycle can be examined further if you hit Search on this website. The cycles were known at Stonehenge. They go backwards through the zodiac signs, not forwards, and repeat every 19 years so that we can learn from our past.
If you are actually 19 or were a child, around 2001, then you may have some past life experiences to sort out, this time around. This may explain why one relationship or connection seems so fated.
It will take you until 2022, to complete the karmic loop. You have been here before. You know all about it (to paraphrase Evelyn Waugh in Brideshead Revisited). Or, to put it another way, in the words of L.P. Hartley in The Go-Between, “The past is a foreign country. They do things differently there.”
Leo, not so different, perhaps. There is such a familiarity about what you must now decide for, about or with – younger people. Or the relationship that could bring them into your life. The time for spiritual settlement is here, after 19 long years away.

You must feel like that other, rather famous, Virgo Prince Harry at the moment. How did that flight path go again, back when planes were still in the air? London, Canada, Los Angeles? Not to mention all the cultural shifts that kind of zigzag involves.
Your own life will show up in your personal birth chart, Virgo, but the current astrological climate is about quite radical and confronting change. Often exciting. Sometimes breathtaking in pace. Yet, as your ruler Mercury joins Uranus, the planet of revolution, on May 1st, the month will begin with another lightning bolt from the blue.
This continues to affect how you see your life as a traveler, migrant, student of life, teacher or mentor, publisher or worldwide web user. It’s also very much about being ‘a stranger in a strange land’ no matter if you are dealing with a completely different background and mindset, or genuine gaps in language, culture and nationality.
Uranus brings the revolution that sets you and other people free if you can only trade security for independence. There is bound to be a keynote piece of news, email exchange, letter, signature, multimedia commitment and so on, near the 1st of May. A few days later you go to stage two, and then the entire conversation or plan is tested on the Full Moon of May 7th. If you know your chart and you have the Sun at 16, 17 or 18 Virgo, then this Full Moon is personal. It may even be quite momentous in terms of what you are up to with another nationality, region or culture. In any case, a Full Moon is always a full stop. Hit pause. You need to make an imperfect decision. There is no ‘perfect’ on May 7th, or thereabouts. Only a compromise with yourself. That is par for the course on this cycle and what you decide will be absolutely right.
The month ends with another statement about independence and freedom as Uranus is conjunct Psyche, part of the Venus family of asteroids. This quirky timekeeping known as astrology is remarkably accurate or it would not have thrived over the last 2000 years. So, check in with yourself in the closing days of May, because nothing you knew ‘for sure’ about your life as a traveler or tourist, prior to 2018, is relevant anymore.
Of course I would say that. My own flights have been cancelled, from Melbourne to London. Yet, your chart says it too. You have Uranus transiting your Ninth House for the first and last time in your adult life. You can never, will never, get around the country, or even the world, the same way again. Yet, doesn’t that bring forth some unlikely and unusual possibilities? Sailing, perhaps, if those borders are open where you are. A new kind of road trip? Virtual journeys and head trips, plugged into another reality? Virgo, nothing is really impossible on a Uranus cycle like this one.
More crucially, this cycle is about the way you were raised, in terms of your beliefs, religion, education, academic path (perhaps) and all those lofty subjects that have called you in the past, or may be calling you now. This transit is about a quite radical change of mind, in relation to what you know ‘for sure’. It can be liberating, exhilarating, challenging – all at the same time. And that’s fine. In the next part of your forecast I will look at your career and your home life. Your ambition and your family. It’s all connected.
You will begin a new project, role or goal on the 22nd of May or very close to it, Virgo. That New Moon is decisive. You’ll hardly see it over your rooftop, as it’s just a sliver of light. Yet, despite this, the new path you are taking is substantial. This is a big switch with your career, unpaid work, university or college degree.
It’s also strangely familiar, a few days later. In fact, near May 28th, you could be going back to your life as it was 19 years ago. Around the year 2001, you were gathering karma for the future. If you were born then, or just a child, then some past life karma may be coming into play. In any case, Virgo, near the end of May you will be dealing with the distant past and all that it requires of you, or perhaps dealing with uncannily familiar faces or organisations, projects or plans. That feeling of Deja vu is not your imagination. According to astrology, you are now being returned to who you were, or where you were – before.
This is really so you can gain closure in 2020, 2021 and early 2022 and if anything or anyone is unresolved for you, this will be a time of reckoning up. If you are owed, on any level, then spiritually you will be repaid. If you owe, on any level, then again, it is time to try and even the soul-scores.
What else are we seeing at the end of May? Well, on the 28th of May, your ruler Mercury opposes the South Node in Sagittarius, which is extremely important in terms of the distant past. Your house, home town, family, homeland, apartment, property investment, distant relatives, roommates, flatmates or live-in partner (the household) is part of this story.
A really important conversation, piece of paperwork or fresh news around May 28th will also allow you to see that the past is influencing the present. Again, this may be from a previous incarnation (you likely knew the family members before) or more practically, the year 2001 and all its unfinished business.
The whole idea of the North Node and South Node, which you can look up on Search, or in your library (if you are a Premium Member) is to go around on the Merry-Go-Round one more time. It can feel rather lazy and easy, as if you’ve been there, done that and had the ride. This is likely how you’ll see the situation with the house, apartment, property investment or relative.
The Nodes can also feel like you are hearing the same script or seeing the same clip on rewind – that is more likely with your success, status, ambition, position or mission at month’s end. In all cases, Virgo, just remember the past. Or listen to your dreams, which can sometimes reveal past lives at this time. You’ll see what’s involved almost as soon as you hit that Node-Mercury opposition, around the 28th. And you’ll know what you have to do and what, perhaps, must come your way from other people.

Libra, as early as May 1st, you will be ‘doing the pivot’ as you realise the only way to deal with everything about your budget flipping, is to twist and turn similarly. Fortunately, you are an air sign so know how to breeze through any necessary discussions or paperwork then. This is a radical new life budget, though. Let me explain. On the 1st of May, you experience a Mercury-Uranus conjunction which comes out of the blue, feels as exciting but also challenging as an electrical storm, and releases a great deal of built-up tension. Your house, bank account, charity, business, possessions, apartment, shares and legacy – or others’ legacy to you – will be at the heart of what you must now question.
The questioning is a smart move in a time of rapid change. As you saw in March, sometimes life changed in five minutes, then tilted again, the following day. We astrologers have been watching this cycle since 1781 when Uranus was discovered in Bath and know its characteristics. If the subject of pounds, dollars, euros or some other currency leaves you feeling a little wired, then it is absolutely normal. The trick here is to do something which grounds you, Libra – making vegetable soup, growing some sprouts on wet cotton wool – doing the downward dog yoga position – whatever works for you.
I’m going to give you some dates for this financial pivot. We’ve already seen astonishing things. Banks dropping all charges on overdrafts. Credit card repayment holidays. Huge government handouts. What you’re going to see in May 2020 is another big wave of change. You will be set free by this. Maybe you had no idea just how tied up you actually were, Libra. Perhaps you had become accustomed to living a rather tightly restricted life – yet what is coming, near these dates, is freedom. Real liberation. However, it comes your way, the astrological knowledge of about 200 years tells you, take the new independence from (insert word here) and run with it. Even if the atmosphere does crackle and zigzag with the occasional bolt of something unexpected, try to appreciate what is going on – you are being released. It takes great insight to see that, and a few deep breaths, but in the fullness of time, you will see that you would have been confined for years, had a particular situation gone on to its logical conclusion, financially. Or – perhaps – with your business, shares, house, charity or apartment.
The Eighth House of your solar chart is the focus here. This rules marriage and mortgage (‘Until death do us part, in sickness and in health’). It also rules what you leave to the family, and what the family leave to you – the really big assets, from heirloom jewelry to property or investments. We call this the house of sex and money in astrology. It can be about your new relationship with a boyfriend to whom you feel compelled to give cash or open up your flat to – rent-free. You get the picture.
Beyond the Mercury-Uranus conjunction in Taurus which begins the month, on May 3rd, 4th, 5th the numbers and the conversation will be parked on the radar of those around you. It is not tucked away, as money matters often are.
The Full Moon in Scorpio on May 7th, felt perhaps a day or two before/after, is the real crossroads for your pivot. Your life budget does have a little bit to do with the financial side of things, but it is really about what money cannot buy. Yet, for you, it is so precious. Principles are pretty high up on the list. What you refuse to sell out for, Libra. Maybe you have been offered a huge business project, but it involves Facebook, and you won’t have a bar of it, after the tragic events in Auckland. You see my point? Maybe you have principles, values, morals or ethics which forbid you from accepting money from a former wife, or there is a family member whose line cannot be crossed, in your judgement. This is what the astrology is really about near May 7th. It’s your own price tags. So, you might tell a friend ‘I wouldn’t do that for a million bucks.’ Or maybe you would do that!
A life budget can be an astonishing thing, and if you have Scorpio factors in your personal birth chart, you will find that the Full Moon puts you on a dramatically new path. Maybe you rate integrity, credibility or generosity very high in your budget. Perhaps you value forgiveness, compassion or kindness. The bottom line, a lot of the time, is actually your marriage or relationship. Your parents or your children. Priceless. Yet, because of what is happening near May 7th, you must put a price on the things that money cannot purchase. You have to literally re-evaluate what is there.
Close to the 28th of May, at the Uranus-Psyche conjunction in Taurus, you end the month with another pivot. The planet itself pivots. It does not move the way that Jupiter or Saturn, do! As above, so below. When this kind of pattern in your horoscope comes calling, it is smart to twist, turn, bend – and keep moving. There is a really great Madness song called Keep Moving, much under-rated in their career. What we are going through now is a kind of useful madness, in the world economy. Does that make sense? Keep moving. Now, I’ll look at your projects, plans, ideas, brainwaves, courses and concepts. That’s the next big deal.
Libra, the New Moon on May 22nd, which you may experience the day before or after, is a new beginning on the internet for you. It may also involve multimedia, a microphone, or just pen and paper. On the same day, there is a duet in your life – which is second nature to you – as you were born to endlessly balance the scales with just one other person. So, the final week of the month is a real turning point for you, after you have gone through all the life budget reshaping earlier on.
Pay attention to the fine print on anything in writing near the 22nd (and it should all be in writing). Beyond this being about your way with words, ideas or images – it is also about other cultures. Other regions or nationalities. Different accents or languages, perhaps. This may be about digital or traditional publishing. Education or academia. Perhaps, your own travel arrangements (some people are still travelling, of course, in May 2020) and any ‘travel in the mind’ that appeals.
This looks pretty strong. New Moon, new beginning. New deal between you and someone else. This ‘someone else’ is not just another connection in your life. It’s as intricate as mother and son relationships, or the bond between lovers – or even husband and wife. Of course, we may actually be talking about a sexual relationship or a family tie, as discussions roll on.
In other cases it’s strictly publisher-author (say) or host-traveler, but it feels really complicated. Your ruler Venus, looming large then, does in fact rule complicated relationships and so getting something in writing, once you have hauled in a disinterested outsider you trust – could be a smart idea.
We then move to May 28th, which is historic in your horoscope. The North Node and South Node move backwards in time, at 19-year intervals. So, you haven’t seen anything like this since around 2001. What you were talking about a few days before now feels even more important – perhaps, fated.
This goes beyond the projects, plans, ideas, journeys (and travel in the mind). It stretches beyond cultural, national or regional differences, or big ideas – perhaps, vast subjects. It takes you back about 19 years into the past, and depending on your age, 19 years before that. The Mercury conjunction to the North Node and opposition to the South Node is highly unusual. You have known at least one of these people before, in a former lifetime. Perhaps, more than one of them.
It is very likely that a particular part of your country, or the world, has long karmic ties for you. So, for example, if India calls you at the end of May, but you live and work in America, it may be that you were born again (last time) you were born in Delhi. This is standard astrology. The North Node and South Node in India are actually known for triggering major questions about a prior incarnation.
In the West, in astrology, we also associate the patterns you are meeting, with spiritual debts and soul credits. You may be British but have unfinished business with America and Americans. Or, regionally, it may be about you in Sydney dealing with matters almost forgotten, from 19 years ago, in rural Queensland. You get the picture. The way you paint that picture as May ends is really important because you need to complete something unfinished. It will take you through to January 2022. You have time to create it. A sense of repetition or familiarity is very common, Libra. Again, this is part of the cycle. It is very likely it was known at Stonehenge. Time for some long-term balancing acts.

Scorpio, because you are a fixed sign, and thus not fond of being made to shift your position too quickly, you may need to look at your usual approach to life this month. Especially, of course, where your former, current or potential partner is concerned. This may be purely business, or partly intensely personal and financial – like Bill and Melinda Gates. It may be charity-based, so the Prince of Wales and Camilla. There are a few variations on the theme. Marriage, mortgage and children. Perhaps, single-parent families with former husbands and young adults to house.
I mentioned you are a fixed sign. You are also ruled by Pluto, a symbol of willpower, self-control and the art of running your own life, and your own spirit. This is very useful in May, because as early as the 1st or 2nd of the month, you must find your reins and use them on yourself. No matter how much you want to stick to the past (life as it was before 2018) or even push back against the changes, try to make yourself bend.
This idea of being, adapting, adjusting, turning, twisting, pivoting is very important in the current Uranus in Taurus cycle. Taurus is your opposite sign and thus, as early as the opening days of May, the focus is on your opposite number. Past, present or potential. Sometimes a duet can feel like a duel. Sometimes it just feels like a duet, but Sonny and Cher. Or Bonnie and Clyde. Maybe, Bill and Hillary Clinton. It’s not unusual for Scorpio couples to mix business and pleasure, or property and procreation, or philanthropy and intimacy.
Scorpio is the ruler of the Eighth House in astrology which we associate with the share market, banks, good causes, foundations, taxation, insurance, corporations, property and so on. It also rules the contents of your will (the big-ticket items) and any legacy which names you. At its very heart it is about marriage and dowry. If you are curious about your sign, by the way, do look up Scorpio on Search on this website when you have finished reading.
Try to hang on to your sense of humour because, though dark, it can be as true and real as anything else that is going on. You’re going to see sudden and unique developments with, or for, the other person. Try to see this as French and Saunders or Jerry Seinfeld and George Costanza, occasionally. Morecambe and Wise, perhaps. I guess it depends on your vintage and your taste in comedy.
Beyond that, as astrologers have been studying Uranus cycles (more comedy) for about 200 years, I can pass on a great truth about this transit. This too shall pass. Just like an electrical storm with lightning overhead, it will roll on. While it is taking place, particularly in the first 1-2 weeks of May, try to live in the moment, move with the times, and do a lot of dodging, ducking and diving. Most of all, though, Scorpio, remember the sweetness of freedom.
Your personal birth chart will tell the story. Born near October 30th, November 1st, November 7th, November 24th, – you must deal with important questions about who you are, why you are here, what you make your absolute priority, and how to remember yourself all over again. Looking in a mirror or writing a diary entry could be useful. Go beyond the numbers, maths or digits. It’s quite clearly a month to gaze at statements, accounts or paperwork, but you need to get back to your core self. This is going to help you make the right decisions at the right time.
No matter when you were born, the Full Moon in Scorpio on May 7th, in your own sign, requires time and space. Give yourself plenty of room to move, and peace and quiet, on the 6th, 7th and 8th of May. The Moon in your own zodiac sign is opposite the Sun at that time. This describes the push-pull inside yourself, or the situation involving this crucial other person, which finds you at opposite ends of the spectrum.
If you value your own freedom and space, your independence and autonomy, then it will work best if you extend this to others. I remember having a very similar transit in New York, when I was in my early thirties. A storm over the top of the Empire State Building reflected a storm happening with my boyfriend at the time, a travel author. He set me free. Eventually I set him free. Years later, I realised that marrying him would have meant denying myself years of precious independence and incredible life adventures, without the chains of a mortgage or the massive responsibility of parenthood.
This cycle affects people differently. Very commonly, we find couples who have lived together or been married for years, suddenly dealing with one person’s loss of work, or income, or the other anchors that make us feel secure.
All kinds of things can happen. The situation with a son or daughter can trigger change. The key to Uranus transits, which are so active in your chart in May, is to recognise all the signs of ‘the winds of change’ as Patric Walker used to call them and get your yacht prepared. Adjust the sails and go with the wind and the currents. Relish the exhilaration of living in the moment and trust the process. To end this part of your reading, again, on a personal note – I am selling my beloved yacht, Lynnie Gemini, this month. I am not sure when I will see the coast of Britain again. Even astrologers, who can see what is coming, have to completely rethink their journey on this cycle. It is famously unpredictable, Scorpio, yet your chart for 2020, 2021, 2022 and beyond says that you will find your navigational coordinates and the right path. Now, let’s look at the money.
The month is really in two halves. The first half is very much about the new chemistry experiment involving the pair of you – your former, current or potential partner. You are in the laboratory while lightning crackles outside the windows, trying to find the right formula. (And you will).
The New Moon on May 22nd is a new beginning for both of you, no matter if you have separate financial lives, or share responsibility (say) for a daughter’s upkeep. This is a defining moment for you, Scorpio. I mentioned earlier that you could look your sign up on Search. If you know for a fact you also have Libra factors in your personal birth chart, double that message! Why? Because you are here to fully explore all the twists and turns in a sexual relationship, past, present or potential. It’s rather like two scorpions locked in a promenade a deux. I call this ‘kiss or kill’ because that is what scorpions can do. And it’s who you are. It’s actually your personality, heart and soul.
No matter what your chart looks like, May 22nd will bring a crucial discussion, piece of news or signature, and it will change your mutual financial, house, apartment, charity or business situation for some time to come. Thus – take your time and get outside options. Venus is overhead with the New Moon, aligned with Mercury. That suggests to me, mother and son relationships. Lovers locked in adultery. Husbands and wives and all their many, many sexual and emotional layers.
Venus can sometimes be quite literal in your chart. More symbolically, on the 22nd of May, we’re talking a new chapter in the economics of your duet, or your duel. And it is complicated, too, so give yourself plenty of spare time to not only examine the numbers, but also look at the actual value, worth, cost or ‘price’ of what cannot be itemised by other people. Loyalty, peace of mind, integrity, compassion and all the big soul values.
On May 28th, you have the full karma from 19 years ago, so 2001-2002, when the North Node and South Node were both in your financial sectors. This involves the substantial assets in your life; the kind that you factor into any legacy, or automatically assume, when thinking about legacies which name you. This also involves karma going back another 19 years, and another 19 years, and another 19 years! In fact, in astrology’s quirky timekeeping, the cycle goes back into your many past lives. The Dragon’s Head and Dragon’s Tail, they call it. On the 28th of May or close to it, karma from 2001-2002 returns. If you were small then, it may be past life, or perhaps a financial episode involving a parent or other older relative than may return.
I’ll leave it to you to figure out the karmic balance sheet, but rest assured that until this cycle ends on January 19th, 2022, you are in for long-haul settlement, balancing (the balance sheets) and closure. You are owed, perhaps. Maybe you owe. What, and to whom, will be very clear near the 28th, when you can take a deep breath and begin the long process of harmonising and refining this part of your life. Take your time; this was never going to be a rushed job, Scorpio.

Sagittarius, of all the 12 signs of the zodiac, you are most profoundly affected by Rona, as my hipster friends in Melbourne call C-19. I’m not just talking the need to make sleep, relaxation, fitness (indoors or outdoors) or fruit and vegetables a priority. Your immunity has been a discovery tour waiting to happen since May 2018, when your current Uranus astro-cycle began. No, it’s also your work. Your duty to other people and your sense of service. Double that, of course, if you are in a service profession, already. I have a few nurses among my readers, but also hoteliers. No matter what job, part-time or full-time, paid or unpaid, you had back in early 2018, the road from May 1st, 2020 is radically different. It can and will be exciting. Liberating.
You may be pivoting, like a film director who has worked with cameras for decades, suddenly rediscovering the glories of old-time radio. Your own personal birth chart will show you where your career strengths lie. Of course, this cycle is also about unpaid work, housework, care taking, caring, parenting (full-time) and – being a student. It’s not just about job descriptions in the normal sense.
Sagittarius, as early as the 1st of May, you will make the connection between how well you feel, how fit you are, how productive you are – and how you view your current obligations. This is really what you do from the start of your day, to the finish. What you are realising, I would guess, since the earlier Uranus patterns in your horoscope in March – is that you will need to rethink and reshape your days, almost on a daily basis sometimes. And you can’t remove the details of your ‘fitness for duty’ from that. For obvious reasons, as Rona is around – but we’re also talking about your mental health and mental wellbeing.
We have the common cold on this planet, and we also have common mental health issues. Anxiety and depression are everywhere, and we all live with it, or know someone who does. This is as much a part of this cycle as looking at your immunity overall. Your weight and shape. Your strength and energy. In astrology, which has been focused on what they call the Sixth House, for centuries, we don’t separate mind from body.
It’s like the most common kind of dentistry – removing plaque. It’s also as common as back issues, for some. In other words, Sagittarius, there is nothing about your central question about work, housework, duty, service, health, fitness and well-being that is unique. You are not alone. You also gain enormously in May from being so flexible, so adaptable, so ‘bendy’ (if that is even a word!) that you can spring into action like an acrobat when you have to.
Uranus is the planet that does not move normally. It moves in mysterious ways. Eccentrically. As above so below. The most eccentric, inventive, wildly original, unprecedented, offbeat, oddball options are all around you in early May.
The Mercury-Uranus conjunction on May 1st is a case in point. Pivot and spin, Sagittarius, pivot and spin. On 4th May, there is a big spotlight on a particular discussion, news item, letter or email. It will directly concern your workload and wellbeing. Light dawns. Questions are answered.
On the Full Moon on May 7th, we go into a different angle on your well-being. I mentioned mental health, which is just as important as an apple a day. We need the apples, but we also need time off, time out, self-care and self-help books, meditation and so on. A little cognitive therapy or mindfulness goes a long way now. That Full Moon asks you to shut the door on the world, find some peace and quiet, and go it alone for a while. You may be doing that anyway. You need to find your spiritual center, then. You’re soul’s core. It may be via your God, or your church. Your astrology books or your Tarot deck. Maybe, your belief in quantum mechanics (and your tolerance of the zodiac!)
This Full Moon in Scorpio, one sign behind you, is about what you do behind closed doors, including the priest’s confessional. It is about what is behind your exterior – so, your astral body or etheric body. Your aura and chakras. Your soul or spirit. That part of you which dreams but also leaves your body. That part of you which is not tied to the here-and-now of living on planet earth, having breakfast and doing the washing-up – but tied to the invisible world. On that Full Moon you will contact this, or it will certainly contact you. The quest for meaning? Maybe. I should have thought your mirror or diary would also be the story.
Once you are past that Full Moon, and into the second week of May, the wheel turns and you are then in a new place, with your lifestyle, soul, spirit, workload, housework, health, fitness and the reset known as ‘Uranus in Your Sixth Solar House.’ I wouldn’t expect you to share, or make public, a great deal of what passes on the Full Moon. May 6th, 7th and 8th is your own affair, no matter if you are a Tibetan Buddhist sympathiser or a confused Jew.
Now, let’s talk about the relationship you share with your former, current or potential partner.
There are many kinds of duet and you have seen a few in your life. Tennis partners play doubles at Wimbledon. Actors fall in love with their leading ladies. The two of you may be former, current or potential partners. The bond may be sexual and deeply intimate, with children, marriage and the rest. It may be professional, so you have worked together as a duet, or are doing so now – or may be considering it for 2021. The Seventh House of your chart is where we find the New Moon on May 22nd and the new beginning.
You may move in together to save money, or separate because you realise you want different things from life. The children may have been (or may still be) an issue. Your personal life is in your personal birth chart which will tell you everything you need to know.
On the 22nd of May, quite a few Sagittarius will declare their feelings and talk, text or email some kind of commitment. (Forget the mail. I am in Tasmania waiting for thermal underwear which may never arrive, from a city one hour away. My friend Karen on the Lower East Side has been waiting for P2 masks from me, on the other side of the world, forever). However, you say it, or write it, this is a really big moment for both of you, Sagittarius. Venus is involved in your horoscope on May 22nd, as well as the New Moon, so we are talking human nature at its most vulnerable, intriguing and challenging. Envy is often a part of the story with Venus. Sometimes outright jealousy.
We get vanity, too, and we also get an intense interest in the business of relationships themselves. Venus likes Jane Austen. She likes opera and soap opera. She likes Oprah. So, May 22md or thereabouts is going to be layered and nuanced. You will need a lot of time and space to sort out the discussion then.
About a week later, on May 28th, you reach a karmic cycle not seen since 2001-2002. Perhaps you married then or met. Maybe you moved in together. You could have separated or divorced. Signed up on a business partnership? Left a professional duet? Even if you were a child or baby then, you may have past life karma with your former, current or potential partner on the 28th. I allow 24 hours either side as I have readers in Auckland as well as Los Angeles but think of the closing days of May as the long look back. Even if you can’t remember 19 years ago, or 19 years before that, or 19 years before that (the Node karma cycle now) rest assured, it remembers you!
So, you are owed, or you owe – spiritually. Karma is associated with the North Node and South Node in astrology, partly because of Vedic or Indian astrology, which calls these peculiar points in the horoscope, Rahu and Ketu. If you are curious about them look up North Node and South Node when you finish reading this horoscope.
I can best describe what is going on, at the end of May, as a revisiting of the past, or a past life (prior incarnation) which will require slow and steady handling, until January 2022. This is long-haul clearance. The slow balancing act of what was agreed in your soul contracts, in your lives between lives. Maybe you just need to go back to 2001 or 2002 and repay a tremendous emotional debt – or a financial one.
As I said, your own personal birth chart will tell you the full story. You tend to see awfully familiar, intensely repetitive scenarios on this cycle, which begins in the most obvious way as May closes. There is no fast or easy way out, or through. That’s fine. You just need to spin those wheels. You’ll balance the scales between yourselves and the needle will be firmly in the middle eventually.

Capricorn, as early as May 1st, you experience quite dramatic changes (yes, more of them) with your sexual relationships, your life as a parent, aunt, uncle, grandparent – and in general – with younger people.
The Fifth House of your chart, ruled by Taurus, is occupied by Uranus at the moment and as he joins Mercury as May begins, there will be quite sudden developments which, if you accept them with enough detachment, will quickly show you some new freedom. It takes great insight to deal with this kind of transit and I’m not denying that the first week or so of May, is going to challenge all your assumptions, or old ideas about the way things were.
Life before 2018 is no longer relevant, Capricorn, and although you are an earth sign, ruled by slow Saturn, and prefer to know where you are putting your feet next – that’s just not there anymore. The appropriate response to the world of sexual relationships, babies, infants, schoolchildren, teenagers or young adults is to zig-zag. Not to dig in. I’ll give you some dates when that is more of an issue, now.
On the 1st of May, we begin with the sort of discussion, news, mail or email that can change things in the blink of an eye. The more you are ready to adapt and adjust, the better. It may be something as simple as news about your son’s home education. Perhaps it concerns a lover, who is a single parent. Your own situation is defined by your birth chart, Capricorn, and will tell the whole story.
We then go to May 4th, when everything becomes very clear and also rather public. It’s out in the open. It may be that your daughter wants to become more independent, for example, as a result of all these tremendous changes taking place with education, work, salaries, allowances, rent and property. I think it is fair to say that a great many sexual relationships have been diverted, quite dramatically, or started – certainly reshaped – by the situation around us now. That might also account for what is taking place in a same-sex civil partnership, for example.
The Full Moon in Scorpio on May 7th is a full stop. Give yourself pause for thought on May 6th, 7th, 8th and take a long view. You will need peace and quiet then, so find it the best way you can. There is no ‘perfect’ or 100% outcome at such times. Just what is right for you, and perhaps for the other person, or other people involved. What you decide to do will be the correct path, because you will have chosen it at a crossroads asking you to draw on all your best qualities. These are – patience, stamina, practicality, and the ability to set goals and meet them.
You probably feel as if you are stepping onwards and upwards, slowly and steadily, as you always do – while the lightning crackles around you. Correct. Yet, a decision must still be made, and once you are there, you will have satisfied yourself, and likely everyone else as well.
Now, let’s look at your inner life, and inner world, which is very important at the end of May. And also – your lifestyle, workload, health, wellbeing and daily routine.
On May 22nd, you experience a New Moon in your lifestyle, workload, health and fitness zone. This is where we find your Dyson or your staff, depending on who you are. It’s where we find your mental and physical condition, and you have no doubt been looking at your immunity with new eyes lately. Harvard University tells us what our grandparents knew. It’s about sleep, relaxation, exercise, fresh fruit and vegetables, minimal or no alcohol and certainly no cigarettes. So far, so boring, right? Yet, in this kind of cycle, immunity becomes the central focus.
It’s how you bounce things. And it’s also part of your new approach to work, housework, unpaid work, charity work, paid work, study and so on. You’re at a point in your astrological year when you can’t really separate how you perform, physically and mentally, from how productive you are.
It works the other way too near the 22nd of May. You can’t separate how you feel about necessary tasks, chores, duty statements, service to others – and all that you take on board – without automatically looking at how your mind, body and spirit is responding. I do think that New Moon, because it coincides with Mercury and Venus in the same area of your chart, is key.
It’s about negotiating, on quite a complex emotional level. It’s also about a rebirth, or a conception, or a new beginning. Obviously, a lot of people born under your sign are now rethinking their old position, mission and ambition, but also those elements of lifestyle that revolve around daily details. The time the alarm clock is set, for example, if you set it at all.
On May 28th, about a week after this fresh start with your workload, lifestyle, daily routine, mental and/or physical health and fitness – you go into the karma of the Node cycle.
What were you doing in 2001-2002? Working? Studying? Between jobs? Unpaid role? That is coming back to you karmically as May ends. You may be owed, spiritually, or owe others. The Node cycle is peculiar because it moves backwards in time, through the signs. In fact, many astrologers would say you are now being drawn into past life agreements, or soul contracts.
This is the same story with your mind, body and spirit too. You are being taken back to the past, or even a past life, so you can sort out the present. Capricorn this is a long cycle and what comes to pass at the end of May could feel awfully familiar to you. Correct. You will spend 2020, 2021 and early 2022 sorting out what needs to be reshaped in your life, particularly in terms of your own attitude. How you see a situation which you’ve seen so often before. You may think ‘Been there, done that, seen the film’ and that would be characteristic of this cycle.
Your religious beliefs, trust in astrology, commitment to the Tarot, Tibetan Buddhist sympathies, or firm Humanism – are all tied to the same cycle. You can be a believer or not, and have a therapist or not, but it’s all about the inner life. What your soul or spirit tells you, Capricorn. On May 28th, the planet Mercury is right opposite the South Node in that area of your chart, so this is a moment of truth for you.
The Twelfth House is about solitude and space within. Secrecy, to a certain extent (one does not shout what has just passed during Confession, down the church pews). It can be about your diary, the locked filing cabinet at home, or the secrets you keep which come out if you’re drunk or under anesthetic. Most commonly it is about your God. Again, on 28th May, you are taken back about 19 years, and maybe 19 years before that. Certainly, there is a chance you are experiencing a past life moment. It is very common to find people who have landed on this planet in order to work through their issues with a monastery, for example, or a convent.
Dreams, psychologists, psychiatrists, priests, nuns, vicars, rabbis, astrologers, mediums, psychics, therapists, self-help gurus – are all associated with this cycle. Take it slowly Capricorn as you’ll be dealing with this stuff in 2020, 2021 and early 2022 as you sort out the past in order to make progress for the future.

The first week or two of May is the time you come into your own, Aquarius, as the person best-known for meeting change – with more change. Your sign tends to dive into the storm and dance with it, rather than shake your head and wait for the old weather from yesterday to return.
You know what is going on with your house, family, apartment, household, town or country. With the mortgage or landlady. With your local area or passport. With your people, actually, which may involve all the leaves and branches on the family tree, but also your roots. Where your parents, grandparents, great-great grandparents came from, and what you feel grounds you, culturally or spiritually.
Uranus tends to shake the tree. This is your ruling planet, now in this zone of your chart for the first time in your adult life. If you are curious about Uranus, use Search to find out more when you have finished reading this. It turns the known world upside-down and replaces it with the new world, rapidly, so that it can some time to adjust and adapt. Yet, the faster you move, and the more you understand that you are actually being given freedom – the easier it will be.
We do associate this with feeling galvanised. It’s a bit like the pogo in 1977, the year that punk rock broke in London. This odd new solo dance, the safety pins, the dyed hair, the incredible music and the rare talents – Johnny, Sid, Siouxsie, liberated people. Any Uranus transit feels like this. Odd, unusual, exhilarating but also confronting. You now have a punk rock moment with your close relatives, flatmates/roommates, live-in partner, tenants, landlady and the rest, Aquarius. Your property investment and your country and your family tree. Your personal birth chart will tell you the rest.
What to do, in the first week of May as the astrological weather rolls into your horoscope? Try to go with the odd new rhythm of life, which may well feel like some kind of Buzzcocks classic. Try to understand you are being shown what freedom feels like, and in fact it’s not just a sample. It’s the new world. However this reaches you, and that will be intensely personal, try to see that the past is being moved swiftly out of the present, so that you can zig-zag towards the future.
There is really no point in having a family tree unless you and they are free. A very likely outcome of May 1st-8th for so many of you is mortgage relief, or government decisions about your home, town or country which liberate you in some way.
Again, your personal chart will tell you. But in all cases Aquarius, just go with it. Be open, if you can, not closed to change. Read the room. The people in the room who are pursuing quite radical new ideas and revolutionary, brilliant, exciting alternatives are the right faces for you. They will make a lasting difference to how you see your people or your place. Try to go with that even if there is no precedent. This is literally unprecedented.
Aquarius, I will now look at the Nodes in Sagittarius and Gemini, and the Gemini New Moon. This takes you into the second half of the month.
Every 19 years the North Node and South Node move back into Gemini and Sagittarius respectively, and there are two shifts back to the years 2001 and 2002. This is happening now, first of all with sexual relationships, the world of children, or the world of younger people. Gemini rules all this in your chart in the Fifth House, which describes the kinds of couples who produce pregnancies, or the sorts of commitments which lead to step parenting or shared responsibility for younger in-laws.
There is also the simple case of godchildren, nieces or nephews. Of course, a son or daughter. And most certainly, younger generations (old enough to be your own offspring) whom you tutor, mentor or guide. A virtual class of students, for example. The Fifth House, ruled by Gemini in your chart, is about leading the way. Being Queen to a younger court, or King. Preparing the next generation in the dynasty to take over the throne!
This is also why we associate this cycle with entertainment, sport or other activities which mean you can bond with younger people. Harry Potter would be a good example. So would music (if it’s the right kind of instrument). All these things keep your generation and theirs, more closely entwined.
The North Node now will take you back to the past for closure, settlement, harmony and balancing. Even if you were only born in 2001 or 2002, you may have past life karma going back another 19 years, and another 19 years, and so on into the mists of time. The Node rules reincarnation and for so many people born under the Sun sign of Aquarius, May 2020 is about understanding that your soul contract may have involved particular issues around babies, children or young people which are now here for reassessment.
A really common example is a pregnancy that never came to pass, in 2001 or 2002. Or a child who was actually born who is now on his or her way to adulthood. Again the wheel of karma turns. By that I mean, you are owed. Or you owe. Spiritually! There will be clear signs of this in May and certainly June 2020 as the Sun enters Gemini in the final week and of course Venus (relationships) is retrograde there. It will be pretty obvious.
The Sagittarius South Node is about friendship. Friends and groups. The same thinking applies. You will be taken back 19 years, in waves, or even into past lives, with particular faces (old or new friendships) and specific clubs, teams, circles, networks and so on. Here, you may find that you are in a position to ‘do unto others’ what was ‘done unto myself’ 19 years ago, or even as far back as a past life in the 1940s. Wartime units, groups, clubs, teams are sometimes the source of karma.
You have to possess an open mind if you are to accept this theory that the Nodes take us back into previous lives, but in fact it is commonly accepted in Indian (Vedic) astrology. There is really nothing like the present to convince you, though. If May and June, when we see these trends begin – bring karma – you know why.
The Nodes are slow-moving and will be with you until January 2022, Aquarius. You may find that closure is also slow but that’s fine. Along the way, the sheer repetition of one situation with a friend or group (band, club, team, union, society, association) is all it takes to help you reshape your approach.
This is soul change. It can show on a practical level with decisions you make (say, about money) involving friends, but it is generally about the spirit. The inner person. You become a better human being – that’s the idea.
A very common Fifth House-Eleventh House (Gemini-Sagittarius) node outcome is a friend asking you to become a godparent. And yes, you would all of have known each other in a previous life. For more on this Node cycle visit my YouTube channel to hear a podcast with more detail.

There are two really important developments in May, Pisces. The first one is the end of some stuck karma involving the world of sexual relationships, babies, infants, schoolchildren, teenagers and young adults. Some of you have children; some do not. Some have professional involvements with people old enough to be their children – or unpaid efforts – and some do not. Every Pisces is different, but one thing about your life has been the same: repetition! You have been living with the North Node in Cancer for a very long time, and there has been a sense of a stuck record here. Perhaps it’s been the same old song, with your son. Whatever you do or say in an effort to shift things, you always find yourself going through the motions, either with him or other people connected to his situation.
A daughter, niece, nephew, grandchild or your partner’s young relatives may have been at the heart of the same stuck record. Or general issues which might be related – adoption, IVF or step-parenting. Into this general category of ‘repeat, repeat’ we might also find you voluntarily coaching the school football team, or fundraising for a charity for teenagers. I’m sure you get the picture.
Now, at least, you have a break from the repetition. The North Node takes you back, back, back in time. All the time. That is why, despite your best efforts, you have so often been frustrated by a lack of any progress or movement – especially in 2019. The good news is, Pisces, the North Node leaves this zone of your horoscope for 19 years, as you leave the first week of May, and go into the second week. You will genuinely feel (or even see) evidence that you are now free to create your world, in terms of this younger faces – or these younger faces. Maybe, just issues about fertility, future parenting with a lover and so on. The North Node departing Cancer is a huge deal. (So huge, in fact, that I recorded a free audio podcast about this, on our new YouTube channel.)
Pisces, you are also experiencing something not seen in your adult lifetime: a revolution affecting your ‘voice’ across all mediums and media. This might mean writing and paperbacks. Public speaking (what happened to those big group gatherings?) Meetings and speeches (this must be about video meetings, surely?) You will have your own way of experiencing Uranus, the planet of radical change, freedom and independence – in your house of words, images, broadcasting, ideas and communication.
The Third House in astrology, which has been well and truly triggered for you since March, is also about commuting. It is about short-haul travel, like a domestic flight. It’s also about car, bus train and boat. What has been happening to your use of the internet or telephone, or perhaps just your bigger ideas, has also been happening to transport. And travel! I would say this even if Rona had not come to call. You are in a cycle, which I’ve been writing about (I think) since 2017, where you were always going to break with the past, as a commuter, traveler, writer, internet user, telephone owner and so on.
Let’s talk about some key concepts with this cycle, which is more life-changing, in the month of May. Uranus does turn the known world upside-down. That’s a fact. But history and astrology tell us, you can win on this cycle. No matter how many shockwaves rippled across your life, job, unpaid work and day-to-day living in March and April – you can turn this around. We know that the people who gained from the Industrial Revolution in Great Britain in the 18th century, were those who harnessed the new inventions. The people who did really well, from Dublin, to Cardiff, to London – were those who woke up, smelled the coffee and got on with it. They didn’t sit there wringing their hands over the end of the scythe. They embraced (wait for it) the new bridges. The new system. A lot of people who had been peasants before, became industrialists later.
The French Revolution? Well, you were either on board with the new push for independence from Marie Antoinette and her taxes, or you were stuck in the past. You had a choice. The American War of Independence? Similarly – you either saw the light and threw tea over the side of the boat in Boston, at The Boston Tea Party, or you were stranded in yesterday.
My point is, the new internet is here. The new multimedia is here. The new commute/travel is here (for you). The faster you can see what is exciting, liberating and exhilarating other people – the faster you can adapt things to your own life and situation. You are intuitive, Pisces. Famously so. Your Sun in Pisces in the Twelfth House of your chart connects you to something greater than yourself. You tune in! You may have a relationship with your God, or be a meditator, or a medium, or a psychic astrologer. You may just be so used to your good old Sixth Sense or psi ability, that you don’t even notice it anymore.
May 2020 will be challenging, no doubt. Change always is. Especially when it moves at lightning speed. Yet, Pisces, if you are not thinking laterally, intuitively and – along completely new lines – you are missing a chance. Independence Day is coming and the way that you use words, ideas and images is about to leap into electrifying new territory. And it’s the same with getting from A to B. New technology? No technology, even? New ideas? Run don’t walk.
