Aries, you are now caught in the classic year-end cycle of new appointments, retirements, resignations, redundancies, promotions and the like. You are personally affected, and if you know for a fact you have Capricorn factors in your personal birth chart, you can double that message.
It all feels intensely personal, because it is. There is more to the sweeping reshuffles at work, university/college or in the non-profit sector than just a professional decision. In fact, as early as December 2nd, 3rd or 4th you will see why everything is a relationship. Whatever is on paper, or on the computer screen, does not really reveal the sub-text!
If you can hark back to the years 2001 or 1982 (perhaps both, if you have a good memory) you will quickly realise you are seeing karma. Not the Instant Karma beloved of John Lennon, but instead – a really long balance sheet of spiritual debts and credits – going back 19 years, and then another 19 years.
If you can’t remember back that far, see if you can find out. That rather odd feeling of familiarity or Deja vu that comes in December 2019, may well owe itself to episodes or themes from your past. The fact is, the South Node in the ambitious sign of Capricorn is reminding you that everything has to be settled up.
For the first time in 12 years you are being offered vast solutions and sweeping outcomes, and these will come to pass next year. You are quite right to glimpse the light at the end of the tunnel and move towards it. This is the famous Jupiter cycle of hope, optimism and belief. Rising to greet it is a good idea, even as you finish 2019 being all too aware of the problems.
This is particularly the case near December 11th and 13th, when everything is so damn inevitable and unavoidable! Yet, for the first time in a very long time, you are also being given an excellent reason to trust in better days. Bigger times ahead, actually.
This may be a new role in 2020, to name one of the possibilities. It really depends on your personal birth chart.
We associate this cycle with the top of the mountain. Your status. This means your social rank and position. Your job description, if you have one, or the unpaid role you possess. Your college or university degree and the qualifications you hope to obtain.
All good mountain climbers need good weather and conditions. Proper visibility. That’s why so many astrologers will tell you to skip Christmas Day, Boxing Day and perhaps December 27th too, for any mounting decisions. The fact is, what you know is a new beginning, is also clouded and unclear. An eclipse is never a particularly wise time to do anything – or decide anything.
This applies even if you are dazzled by new hope for the future around December 27th. Trust 2020, because it will give you solutions to those questions of status and success, but don’t just leap into a choice. When you cannot see, and do not know (and do not know, what you do not know) you can get on the wrong road!
If you have factors in Cancer in your personal birth chart, this may well be about the family and your status there, as a parent, or a partner. This brings you back to questions about your social position and your place on the ladder of High Society.
Far more likely, I should have thought, is that you will be directly and powerfully affected by the game of musical chairs at work, or in your chosen field. There is more coming, and January will be quite unforgettable. Perhaps you already know that. For now, bear in mind that eclipse message, but do set about peering into your own past for clues which can help the future too.

No man is an island unto himself, nor woman either. If ever there was a month when you need to be reminded that it’s all about another nationality or culture, it’s December 2019.
This may be because your plans utterly depend on a different accent or passport. Beyond that, you must factor in the very different beliefs of others, who come from a background which is unlike your own.
As early as December 3rd, when your ruler Venus conjuncts the South Node, there is a sense of ‘Been there, done that, picked up the karma’ for you. It’s even more obvious near December 8th, about a week later, as you realise you are going to have to pursue a new deal or arrangement.
For some Taurus people this will specifically concern a website, Twitter, a book, course, workshop or seminar. For more obvious reasons, you may be travelling or moving in December (it’s Christmas, and also the end of the year). Equally, you may be welcoming house guests, visitors from other regions or countries and so on.
Understanding that we are all connected, around the world and across the planet, and must find a way to speak a common language, is a major part of December. There is no way on earth you are going to change your heartfelt beliefs, views or philosophies as you are a Taurus person, symbolised by the bull who digs her heels in/his heels in and does not budge.
Yet, it is becoming really apparent that by January you must make one of the most important decisions of your life, regarding your ability to travel, or more likely, ‘travel in the mind.’
Why does it feel as if you’ve been here before? Well, you have. In 1982 or 2001, actually. Perhaps, both years. That may have been when you flew overseas or were living in a different county or state. Perhaps for work or personal reasons you were heavily involved with someone from another country, or just a very different sort of belief system. Karma calls.
I mentioned your ruler Venus joining the South Node on December 3rd. This is really about quite a complicated relationship, with several layers, which is the key to the whole situation. You may need to read this person’s heart and mind, to sort out some major choices later on.
This date is also important as Jupiter changes signs to practical Capricorn, another earth sign like your own, and grounds you in the real world. If you are going to get the most from 2020, you can and must see that one answer depends on seeing it their way (his way, her way, their way) and that means a spiritual or religious challenge for you. A philosophical challenge. It really depends on where you put your faith and that is personal to you.
When Venus, your own planet, moves to meet Saturn on December 11th and Pluto on December 13th, you may want to remember that others are only human. You need to reckon on someone else’s vanity. A little narcissism. There is also tremendous passion there. All of this must be counted. Venus is a 2000+ year old symbol of a hand mirror, and the person you are dealing with, over this matter of ‘travel or travel in the mind’ has tremendous self-concern. This is not about the two of you, it is about the three of you. Including the hand mirror!
Please do skip sweeping judgements or action plans on the eclipse on Boxing Day. You could probably include Christmas Day in that statement, too. Why fly blind? An eclipse covers things up and blots them out, and were you to go full steam ahead then, you could be on the wrong road for rather a long time.
You can and should be optimistic about 2020, with the Sun’s brilliant conjunction Jupiter, on December 27th. You have to put these things in context, though. What you’re being shown here is a way to sort things out. Clean them up. Prepare the ground. Get rid of the accumulated rubbish of 2019!
Next year this will have a tremendous impact on how you learn from life. You never stop being a student of life on this cycle and there is now a very different culture, belief system, nationality, accent, mindset and so on – to deal with. You have no choice, actually, as decisions are looming towards the middle of January which can’t be avoided. The time to think about it all is now, while you have some time off – and time out – and while you are slowly beginning to see epic solutions for next year.
If you are starting a new college or university term, travelling, welcoming travelers or moving then you can double that message. It would be far more likely if you have Cancer and/or Capricorn factors in your personal birth chart, so if you are a Premium Member, do take a look. The wheel of karma turns in the direction of 2001 this month, and also 1982. If you believe in past lives, we could be going back all the way into a prior existence, when debts and credits of the soul, accumulated for you.
Gemini, as early as December 2nd, 3rd, 4th you’ll be aware of a complicated relationship with many layers, powerfully affecting your balance sheet. In fact, about a week later, there may be a substantial carve-up as you both/you all must sort out an arrangement for 2020.
The Venus-Saturn conjunction in the no-nonsense sign of Capricorn on December 11th suggests this is about the family, or a partnership (past, present or potential). Of course, it is sometimes possible to feel you have a relationship with an accountant or bank manager. A few days later, as we find a Venus-Pluto conjunction, you will begin to realise why there is so much more to this than just the numbers. You also have to evaluate what others need from you, that goes beyond the digits.
We have a New Moon, but also a Solar Eclipse, on Boxing Day, December 26th. You may prefer not to judge or act then, or on Christmas Day itself, actually. An eclipse always conceals, it never reveals, and if you make strong decisions then, you could be flying blind for months. Even years. Taking a wrong turn because you cannot see/do not know is a classic example of an eclipse outcome.
As you draw closer to New Year’s Eve, we find another reminder about familiar themes or stories from 2001 and 1982. Even if you can’t remember back that far to specific episodes involving (say) an inheritance, legacy, mortgage and so on – there are hints.
This heavily karmic cycle will end on May 6th, 2020. Until then you will be pleased to see solutions and opportunities for the future. In fact, once the great planet Jupiter changes signs on 3rd December, you have every right to expect sweeping answers.
I don’t really think you’re going to be dancing around like Snoopy in a whirlwind, clapping your paws together with delight. You are only just starting to come out of the heaviest cycle possible in over a quarter-century. If anything, you go towards Christmas looking for a way out, or a way through.
Yet, you can and should be optimistic about what is possible, as you are balancing the books, so to speak, and all things can be arranged, once you see past the actual numbers, or the specific house, shares, pension, apartment, business, company or valuables.
It’s good to know that Jupiter is here to help. That is precisely what this cycle does, no matter how much you might feel the backward drag of the past. I daresay January 2020 will be dramatic. Perhaps seeing a family member over the holiday/vacation is part of that story for you, as the patterns in the sign of Capricorn in your chart very much concern the contents of your legacy (to others) and others’ legacies (naming you).
This means it’s big picture, not small-scale. And when you think about the idea of a legacy, it is about so much more than just a particular asset or investment. It’s really about what is left, spiritually, for the future. The reason for this is that the Node cycle, which affects you so much now, repeats in 2038 as well.
You now have some pretty relentless Capricorn weather in your chart. This pulls in patterns in your Eighth House, which is traditionally associated with sex, money and death. Not exactly lightweight stuff. To put it another way, marriage and mortgage. (That is a common concern on a cycle like this). However, we might also pull in questions about what you are leaving to others, as well as what you have been left – or know will come to you.
So, you see, something really is the gift that goes on giving, or not! Seeing this as a long game will be helpful for you, as you pace yourself in December. There is quite clearly an epic decision waiting for you near Sunday January 12th (perhaps you have that weekend already planned) when your ruler Mercury lines up with Ceres, Saturn and Pluto.
What you must do, then, in December is search for the key to the open door and go through it. Remembering the past will be useful, as you realise you’ve been here before – it’s rather like hearing an old but familiar song.
As much of the activity occurs in Cancer and Capricorn in your chart, if you are a Premium Member and know for sure you have Cancer factors, this whole situation will likely be about home, hometown, homeland or family. If you have Capricorn factors? It will be about your career, unpaid work or degree.
If in Cancer, in particular, the message is so much about seeing past the price tags that other people hang on things and looking to the real cost or value (the real worth) of specific family ties.

The work with the other person – your partner, most likely – begins now and peaks in 2020. Even if you are separating, divorcing or severing the alliance, you will still be able to connect and communicate very well next year.
A happy relationship or marriage (perhaps, a contented work partnership) will benefit from space and distance in 2020. You are on the way to that in December. In fact, January is a milestone for you as it represents about 10 weeks of effort with this person. You will be apart, but together.
A long-distance relationship for Cancer people is very likely if you are single – next year – and it would be built this month.
We are seeing an unusual collection of planets in your opposite sign. So, not only Ceres, which is about the ability to extend space and distance (and tolerance) – but also Jupiter.
This is the really big new deal in your horoscope as he’s not been in your zone of separation, divorce, marriage, work partnership, common-law marriage, dating, ex-relationships and so on – for about 12 years. Jupiter opens everything up and makes it work.
This might explain why ‘distance lends enchantment to the view’ next year. As this could so obviously become complicated, given that you also have heavy Pluto and Saturn opposite your sign, life with your and your opposite number makes more sense when you agree to stay linked, without being entwined too tightly.
The other interesting thing on the horizon is a completely new chapter with your friends and in your social life. You have Uranus in Taurus to thank for that and as this planet is associated with the birth of all that is unconventional, unusual and unexpected, you can guarantee that the company you keep will be quite open to the rather different sort of partnership, marriage or relationship you’ll present for 2020. The work starts now, as I’ve mentioned.

How unusual are December’s work and health trends? Well, Ceres takes about 5 years to show up in this zone of your chart, ruled by Capricorn. The South Node takes 19 years. Jupiter takes 12 years. Saturn takes 29 years. Pluto takes 248 years. A Solar Eclipse isn’t exactly a regular event either.
Your daily workload revolves around your household tasks, from bedroom, to bathroom, to kitchen. It is about your paid work. Your unpaid work (gardening or volunteering your services for nothing). It is also about part-time jobs. Your workload may comprise study, full-time or temporary. The thing is – you need to be fit to do it all.
That is why the Sixth House of your chart, where we now find this historic pile-up in Capricorn, is about both the body and the task. If you are one of those Sun Leo people who also have factors in Virgo in your personal birth chart (you can check if you are a Premium Member) then December will be momentous. A lifestyle change. A workload change, too.
This is one of those cycles when you really have to work out, in order to work. No other way of putting it. And if there is something serious preventing you from working out (not necessarily at the gym – you can swim, dance, walk or run) then December will confront you with that.
Those of you who were in a career in 1989, 1990 will remember why it was a hard slog – how you exercised your way through it – or perhaps were forced to stop, pause and restart after health issues.
Well, you can double that message now. Treble it!
No matter what age you are, or how your life looked in 1989 or 1990 (I have some of my old Teen Vogue readers on here, I know), we are now into serious weather, for your job, your unpaid role, your student commitment – and your wellbeing.
This means mental health (anxiety, depression) as well as your physical condition. If there is a huge disconnect between your body and the rest of you at the moment, it is time to find out what the rest of you is honestly feeling and thinking (deep down) about the tasks, chores and duties of daily life.
It is remarkable how often the specific body part required for a job, is the one that fails to function properly, on a cycle like this. Singers have throat issues. Cooks develop foot problems, because they stand on their feet all day. If this is happening to you, Leo, there can be no more avoidance. It is time to look at the way you work, why you work, how you work – and the details of daily life.
This brings in your food, sleep, relaxation, exercise, prescribed drugs, illegal drugs and alcohol intake. It’s boring, I know, for Leo to have to look at any of these rather mundane and routine matters, but if you are hitting a mountain to climb this Christmas, the astrology would advise you to look at your work.
In astrology, there is no difference at all between your service to other people (or even the household cat or dog) and your service to yourself – your soul or spirit. If what you are required to do, every single day of the working week, does not serve your inner core or essence, then it is not unusual for the body to call a halt, or for common mental health issues to make going on…difficult.
The bigger picture for your paid job(s) especially is – the whole planet. You don’t live in a vacuum and this historic sweep of not only Pluto, but also Saturn, Ceres, the South Node, Venus, Apollo, Jupiter and an Eclipse is really about global leadership. The system.
The astrologer Dennis Elwell wrote The Cosmic Loom (Unwin Hyman, London 1987) when Neptune was in Capricorn. He was famous as both an author, writer and accurate forecaster. He wrote, back then – about the late 1980s – “The message of Neptune in this sign (Capricorn) to governments, administrations, and all large organisations, is: Aim for a higher level of responsibility and integrity, because if you don’t, there is no power on earth which will enable you to plug all the holes…”
This is a time of reckoning, as so many planets cross through Capricorn and trigger past karma. Leo, you are going to end the year, and begin 2020, with a whole host of resignations, sackings, retirements, promotions, new appointments, mergers and collapses affecting your world. Perhaps, your own office.
The real hope here is Jupiter. In fact, when your ruler the Sun forms a conjunction to Jupiter on 27th December, just after Boxing Day, you could hear about an award, acceptance into a course, promotion, amazing opportunity, prestigious work invitation or similar. Perhaps – a victory for you, as a reward for all the days you have spent slogging in 2019. This is your rather late Christmas present from Jupiter.
Congratulations on surviving 2019. Now comes the detox and the repair work. That will take you all of next year to complete. I have lost count of the awful stories shared with me, by Leo readers.
You have been dealing with the most unprofessional people in the world, it seems. Many of them were actually born with Neptune in Capricorn (in the 1990’s – so they are in their twenties now). They have already received their karma, or will do so, in 2020.
Why are so many Neptune in Capricorn people impossible for you to work with right now? They call them Millennials, but actually the truth is – they are Generation Capricorn.
Perhaps you are one yourself and have twenty something colleagues who you find very hard to take. Well, that’s no surprise. Neptune is about delusion, confusion and sometimes outright deception. In Capricorn (career, social climbing, success) you can end up with colleagues, clients or employers with serious reality problems, at work.
Barack Obama is a Leo like you. As I write this prediction for you in October, he has challenged ‘woke’ culture and also ‘cancel’ culture. He is talking about people in their twenties, here. He has a huge problem with the way Generation Capricorn goes about things, especially online. And it spills into work practise. The rules. The system. Service! Professionalism.
Perhaps you have been hired to work for/with these people and then seem them cancel. Or fail to pay. Or fail to show up. Or do their jobs properly. 2019 has really been that kind of year.
People in their twenties (Generation Capricorn) are cheap to pay. Expensive to educate and train. They are hired en masse because they make the wheels go round for less investment, but eventually we hit a cycle like the one you are experiencing now, and…
A central question for you now, never mind the mess and muddle of Generation Capricorn within a corporation, or business, or government – is, how do you make your work, actually work for you? You have basically put your head down and charged, in 2019. You had to, because you were in one of the toughest cycles for your daily routine, lifestyle, job and particularly your health – in years. Depending on your personal chart it may even have brought you to your knees.
Now, no more excuses. You have some time off in December and January. (Or you should!) Use this period to look at your competitors. See where the marketplace is moving to. Look at the hours you spend every day, week, month – and how efficient you are. Are you getting bang for your buck with the effort you put in, or are you wasting your energy when you could be pouring it into a far more lucrative role?
This goes all the way to housework, cooking, cleaning and gardening. Specific dates to avoid here include the eclipse, as you won’t see what you need to see. You won’t have the information you require. Try to avoid dramatic decisions or big judgement calls, please, when your ruler the Sun is involved in this blackout. It takes place on December 26th, Boxing Day. This is also the time you will be aware that there is a lot of rumbling in the jungle, as the drums beat out the gossip about your employers, staff, colleagues, competitors or clients. Avoid the eclipse to assess!
Sometimes we see a cycle like this, at the end of a hard year, and also find workaholism in the horoscope, or hypochondria. Have a look at how you handle the 9 to 5 (has it become bent out of shape?) but also your interest in your own symptoms, Leo. It’s not inevitable on a Sixth House transit like this, but it can show up.
This is going to take a tremendous amount of effort, Leo, but shortly after the very first aspect Jupiter in Capricorn makes (Jupiter conjuncts Apollo on December 9th) you can do it. Finally, you will have support, backing and light at the end of the tunnel.
Jupiter tends to bring all the rubbish to the surface, so that a deep clean can begin, followed by new growth. This happens to you in connection with your workload and your body in January. The earliest glimpse is around December 9th.
Your central question should be about how you feel – about serving. You were not born to serve. You were born to lead. You have been jammed into a very tight, difficult cycle for well over a year now, where others call the shots and you are supposed to turn up with a napkin over your arm.
It is tremendously important that you respect, like and understand the person/people you serve. That you really mean it, for all the right reasons. That you also feel more than satisfied with the way you are served, in terms of time off, time out and the money. You need that to supply yourself with what your body needs, to run. With all that your mind needs, to stay calm.
This delicate, delicate balance is what December is here to address. If you have been looking the other way; too busy to even take stock; too tired to even do the research – you now have time.
Look, you’re going to see a change in the balance of power in your profession, field, business or industry within eight weeks. You need to be absolutely sure of what you want to do with your skills, qualifications and abilities in 2020 – and why – so you can jump straight into the vacant spaces left by others, for particular projects, roles or goals. Being match-fit is mandatory. January 1st, 2020 will be so much more than yet another New Year’s Resolution for you, because you have simply never had this kind of pile-up in your zone of mental health and physical fitness before.
If ever there was a time to look for alternatives and non-mainstream options for your body and mind, this is it. Once Jupiter changes signs as December begins, the horizons expand and 2020 offers so very much more than the last website you looked at, ever told you. First, though, look at why you serve!

Virgo, this may be about mother and son. It may be about your younger daughter-in-law. About two lovers. About two partners and the reality of parenthood. Sometimes this cycle (which concerns babies, infants, schoolchildren, teenagers and Millennials) does not directly concern you, but the people around you. So, for example, your Aunt and her children.
What we are seeing is karma from about 19 years ago as familiar themes come back – same places, faces and spaces – perhaps, just recognisable stories in your life. An obvious example would be a child who is now 18, 19, 20 years old.
You will see developments near the 3rd, 8th, 9th, 11th and 13th. Try to avoid judging or acting on Boxing Day December 25th, during the eclipse. A dazzling view of 2020 appears on the 27th with the biggest and best outcomes possible in 12 years. On the 30th you are again reminded of karma from around 19 years ago.
Virgo, the next generation (and the one after that) is never just ‘there’ in your life on this cycle. Younger faces become a catalyst for big questions about how powerful you are. How powerless you might sometimes feel. How much control you have in a situation, or how much willpower you need to use, to have control. This may be about your son, or about a planned adoption from a foreign country. It may be about a sexual relationship where pregnancy is always a possibility, or a lover with a child from a failed marriage.
At the broadest level, this cycle is about Millennials or children in your work sphere, no matter if this is unpaid work, or paid work. Again, you don’t just ‘have them’ around you, these generations are catalysts for major issues about how much authority and respect you have. A classic example would be a voluntary role with a children’s charity.
You can’t really avoid the pull of the past in December 2020 because the South Node is taking you back there. In fact, this may go beyond life 19 years ago, to life as it was about 38 years ago. Even into past lives, to be honest – the Nodes have a reputation, particularly in Indian astrology, for taking us into prior incarnations. If this all feels like strong Deja vu, that may be why.
You owe, and are owed, karmically. That is the reality of December in astrology and there may be very little you can say or do to alter the currents of time, pulling in hard from almost two decades ago. If you are curious about the South Node please do look it up on Search as it is having the biggest effect on your life, not only in December, but also in January, when a weighty decision will be made. The unavoidable and inevitable is also the beginning of so much better, though, as you move into the best possible outcomes for the year 2020 as a whole.
The idea of sharing or compromising is very strong near the 8th, as there must be a carve-up of roles, rights and responsibilities. At around the same time you begin to see a solution. An opportunity.
Virgo, you have been on a long, hard road with all this in 2018 and 2019, and you are now turning the corner into the very last year you will ever have to deal with that sense of being stuck, or playing a long waiting game for things to change. Even if what takes place on the 11th, 12th and 13th seems pretty relentless, you will ‘get there from here’ as they say.
It may help to remember that Venus is involved in these patterns and she is a 2000+ year-old symbol of vanity, envy, passion and complication. So, for example, if you are in a sexual relationship where a child or stepchild could easily be the result, you need to know what you are dealing with.
I advise against making judgements or taking action on the New Moon and Solar Eclipse of December 26th, Boxing Day. This might be a new beginning in terms of babies, parenthood-potential relationships, infants, schoolchildren, teenagers or Millennials in your world. It also happens to be a new beginning when you cannot see straight – and do not know everything. Don’t get off on the wrong path then. It could put you on a road that diverts you for many years.
As you approach New Year’s Eve, around December 27th you will be shown, in the most obvious and unmissable way, why 2020 should be a year of thinking big, hoping for the best, and proceeding towards a future that allows you to expand. You have really done it tough in 2018 and 2019 and as the historic Sun-Jupiter conjunction takes place straight after Christmas, this is your late delivery. The Sun’s conjunction to the South Node on the 30th, just a day before New Year’s Eve, is useful. It reminds you that you can develop the future by learning from the past.
Think about people aged around 19 this Christmas as their arrival in your family all those years ago may have a message for you now. Even as a demographic or market, late teenagers now may bring back an echo of some pretty old karma for you.
The key to December is remembering you are here to lead, guide, mentor, encourage, coach and set an example to younger faces. Queen or King to a younger court, in fact. The key is also knowing that 2020 will be better than 2018 or 2019 ever were and that hope may arrive with a firm statement or new face, after Christmas.
Your personal birth chart will tell you just how personal this story is. It may be trying for another child, for example, which is intensely personal – or deciding about schools, religion and so on, with a new baby. Again, that’s intensely personal. Perhaps you are choosing to terminate unplanned pregnancy. There may be issues about who a child spends Christmas with, if there is a separation or divorce, or just child maintenance.

It isn’t until there is real hope for the future – optimism about better days ahead for the household, family or home – that anything drastic is done. This is what will power you in December and January 2020, as the great planet Jupiter changes signs, and a sweeping answer looks possible.
Depending on your personal birth chart (if you have factors in Cancer) this may involving selling or buying property, moving, or reshuffling the family.
In other cases, it’s about politics at home, or with one side of the family tree in particular. Key dates for new developments include December 3rd, 8th, 9th, 11th, 26th, 27th and 30th. This is obviously Christmas so it’s the time for family relationships to come front-and-center. Please avoid Boxing Day for judgements and decisions, action plans and new resolutions. We have an eclipse which always conceals information it never reveals it. You don’t really want to be choosing a new path for 2020 when you’re flying blind, Libra. This would also very much apply to a house or apartment if you’re thinking of renovating or moving.
Steering around the eclipse, though, we have a strong picture of eight weeks in your life when you’ll roll your sleeves up and sort out a particular room in the home; your garden; landlords or tenants; flatmates or roommates; domestic life.
On a larger scale, and again this applies if you have factors in Cancer in your personal birth chart, this is about your town and country. Some Libra people will have relocated or emigrated by February 2020 to get rid of a problem.
When we talk about 2020, we are actually referring you back to the year 2001, or thereabouts, as there is some karma there to collect. The South Node always brings a long flashback and you reach that, as you go from this year into next year. In fact, right up until May 2020, you will be struck by the familiarity of your situation. You’ve been here before, to quote Waugh. You know all about it. So, are we talking Brideshead Revisited, Revisited, or something else? The Node has a reputation for bringing everything around again, in a long loop. You may even be going back to the year 1982, depending on your age. Karma calls.
What is different about this Christmas is the hope. It is justified hope because you are going to find epic solutions next year, for all that has ailed you in 2018 and 2019. Jupiter is changing signs and you will have answers. This does not mean January is a cake walk. You will have some serious work to do, as the historic Saturn-Pluto conjunction approaches.
Ceres is ignored by so many astrologers, much to my chagrin, but she is a powerful symbol of a transformation which is complicated yet fated. This is now taking place with your family, your household, your house, apartment, town and/or country. Your people and your place.
As she joins her old son-in-law Pluto, you will find the next few weeks, well into January 2020, a challenging time of compromise and carve-up. Yet, Libra, you are famous for being able to balance the scales, if you feel a situation could be made fairer, and that is what you will be doing, very successfully.
Ceres is about a reallocation of power and some people in your world, or organisations, simply do not like change. Yet, here it is. To make these changes work it is imperative that the new 2020 arrangement is practical. This is just about good old-fashioned common-sense. How is this going to work with diaries? Schedules? Budgets? Over to you.

Scorpio, your own ruling planet Pluto is part of the changes to come for you with the media, publishing, books, the internet and communication in general – near December 3rd, 8th, 9th, 11th, 26th, 27th and 30th.
You are famously invested in having control and having the upper hand in terms of psychological power – especially when it comes to finance, business, charity or property. Yet, when it comes to being heard and read (the basics) you have to now share power.
This is a real shift for you, taking place over around eight weeks. It may involve you accepting that you cannot control Facebook – but then, neither can Mr. Zuckerberg control you! There has to be a compromise. The same might be said for particular television or radio stations, newspapers or magazines. The way your words are used. What you wrote or said and how it is interpreted or edited.
You are quite right to see a solution for 2020 and in fact, next year will fix all the issues you had in 2018 and 2019. You’ll have reason to hope after Christmas, as Father Christmas makes a late delivery, dressed up as Jupiter in Capricorn.
Capricorn is a practical earth sign, cautious and careful, sensible and hear for the long haul. That is what you had always hoped for with your various internet, media or education concerns, but instead you have been dealing with one test after another. Now, the final test requires that you change. This is not really Scorpio’s preferred way, as you are a fixed sign and would rather do what you do – and keep on doing it!
Yet – everything about your chart suggests that if you want to get rid of the problems you had in 2018 and 2019, as a social media user, writer, author, public speaker and the rest – you will have to alter course and strike deals.
Just don’t do it on Boxing Day, please, because the eclipse on December 26th is misleading and rather deceptive. An eclipse always blinds us to the truth of what we are actually doing, or the reality of a situation. It covers up, it never shows. This very specifically applies to all aspects of life covered in your Third House – so not only magazines, newspapers, television, radio and websites – but also spoken-word, scripts, lyrics or debating.
The Third House is also very much associated with commuting and short-haul travel, so – bicycles, trains, buses, cars, domestic flights. I’m not sure why you’d want to decide any of that on an eclipse and hopefully you’ll avoid it – remember, Boxing Day.
As you round the corner into 2020 you will be aware that one of your heaviest decisions yet, about communication and connection, must be made in January. Yet, there is also a sense of relief and release in the air, as Jupiter – a symbol of epic answers – moves into this same zone of your horoscope after 12 years away.

I think the word ‘overhaul’ best describes the whole period of 2018, 2019 and 2020, the new year ahead. What a long, slow overhaul it has been for you. The fact is, you have had to put up with problems that were never there before and have done really well to get this far. Sagittarius, when it comes to finance, property, business, charity, valuables and the like – taxation, shares, your company, insurance, benefits – it’s been tough.
You have no doubt accepted a lot, just to get through, but may have become accustomed to thinking 2020 will just deliver more of the same. Not so. In fact, a bright, shining answer is set to appear as your ruler Jupiter is conjunct the Sun, after Christmas.
Before we get to that happier place, when you are in a position to solve problems, you need to know we have an eclipse on Boxing Day. Try not to judge or act about money or related areas, on December 26th as an eclipse is always about withheld information or your own blindness to what others know. It’s unhelpful.
Beyond that, you might call December 2019 a settling-up time in terms of old spiritual debts and credits. Some things go beyond money, but if you hark back to the year 2000-2001, you’d be on track, spotting familiar themes. It may have been an exchange, then. A payment. Something owed. The South Node cycle of December 2019 suggests it is time to settle some soul scores.
December 3rd, 8th, 9th, 11th, 26th, 27th and 30th are all key dates in the process, remembering that the eclipse on the 27th is unsuitable for drawing big conclusions. That could get you on the wrong path for years, without realising it.
In January 2020, though, you clearly have to bow down to a sweeping transformation in roles, rights and responsibilities. At that time, you will need to put a price tag on peace of mind. Integrity. Self-respect. Compassion. Credibility. Values, above all else – your own values – which may have been changing so much over the last year or two. You’ve been in the school of hard knocks, with Saturn going through Capricorn.
2020 is such a different year and it starts here, in quite a hopeful way. Hang ono that sense of hope, as your ruling planet Jupiter is at large, in the area of your chart associated with salary, income, your home, budget, possessions and the rest.

This rather intense phase in your life does have an end point, in terms of how much you have to put yourself out there and be photographed, judged (according to your brand, anyway) and seen always – at a distance. The end point is December 2020, so one-year from now.
You get a break. Actually, you get a break as early as the first week of December, when the great Jupiter moves into Capricorn for the first time in 12 years. This will be a relief and a release, as solutions appear. You have had so many issues to deal with in 2018 and 2019, trying to take back control of how you are seen, how you are discussed, your qualifications, title, role and the rest.
Heavy lies the head that wears the crown, and all that. A certain heaviness does come with great responsibility and you may be an old head on younger shoulders, or an old head on old shoulders, but you’ve really been feeling the combined force of Pluto, Saturn and the South Node in your sign.
Dramatic change comes as both Ceres, whom most astrologers ignore (but you should not) and Jupiter, both go through Capricorn. Ceres is worth paying attention to because she describes new unity and compromise. The new ‘piecing-together’ process that must happen when a fresh start is made. If you feel as if aspects of your name, face, wardrobe, height, weight, reputation, title, role, brand and so on are being split up and put back together again, you are absolutely right. Pay attention to the process around these dates –
December 3rd, 8th, 9th, 11th, 26th, 27th and 30th. You will have really good reason to be hopeful on the 30th and January 1st, 2020 is going to feel like the biggest New Year’s Resolution in years for you, Capricorn. I would advise against judging or acting about matters of image and self-promotion (even something as apparently trivial as Facebook) on Boxing Day. On December 27th we have an eclipse in Capricorn and as you might assume, it blots things out. It conceals. It hides and overshadows. Why would you want to make any choices about yourself at such a time?
January 2020 will bring your ruler Saturn, into an historic pattern with Pluto, a symbol of transformation, and a change in the balance of power. I am sure you are quite weary of constantly having to view yourself the way that Heinz view a can of beans, but the truth is, this cycle has never happened to you before – and it will never happen again!
You have become a cipher or symbol of something, quite apart from yourself, and as we live in a world of soundbites and memes, you have been telegraphed into a very small package, maybe a centimeter square on Twitter.
Just dealing with that will take you all the Christmas holiday to absorb. Jupiter in your sign is a very good sign, though, because it means the right time, right place, right people or right organisation will be on call, as early as post-Christmas week, to turn your gaze upwards and onwards. The vast majority of your issues improve during this period, into January, as solutions come and for the most part, you can get to December 2020 and say, ‘That was then, and this is now.’

Feeling worn down by your inward concerns or worn out by endless tests and trials of your patience, regarding your secret self, is pretty normal. This cycle has been relentless, and you are now at a point where you cannot let 2020 be a repeat of 2018 or 2019.
This may have been about religion. A psychologist or psychiatrist. Astrology or Tarot. It can be about Alcoholics Anonymous, the need for a counsellor or therapist – or a journal. Aquarius, considering that you have so much going on with friends and groups, it’s also been such an odd period for you, as far as they are concerned – because so much has been hidden.
Nobody knows what you say when you pray. Nobody knows what goes on when you speak to a counsellor. When you cast your own horoscope or peer into your crystals or turn to the Buddha. It’s intensely private and goes into the most mysterious areas of your very soul.
Now, in December, you begin an eight-week detox of all that you have put up with over the last two years and quite frankly, cannot face again. You know what you’ll ‘take’ and what you won’t!
Sometimes this cycle shows up as a concern with sleep or dreams. It can happen. And sometimes it’s just your secrets. Any skeletons in your closet.
You have been discovering what it feels like to be a Sun Pisces. That means knowing all the rewards of having your own, separate reality – but also the problems of being in your own headspace or soul space. In another world, actually.
December is about facing and addressing, with a view to using a solid gold opportunity or solution, just after Christmas. Key dates in the process are December 3rd, 8th, 9th, 11th, 26th, 27th and 30th. Please avoid the 27th as this is an eclipse and if you make sweeping judgement calls or firm inner decisions – even taking action – you will be putting yourself on a new pathway with no lighting. You might think you know what you’re doing and where you’re going, but history and astrology tell us, eclipses fool us all.
Christmas is really about church, Christianity and God and this will be an unforgettable one for you, as you confront what you believe, and what you do not believe.

Pisces, in December and January you will be accepting changes and also making them, which result in historic shifts in your life. Why historic? Because we only see these cycles involving Jupiter once every 12 years. The South Node, every 19 years. Saturn, every 29 years. Pluto, over 240 years.
These are the key dates: December 3rd, 8th, 9th, 11th, 26th, 27th and 30th. This is absolutely going to pull in Twitter for you, or perhaps Instagram or Facebook, if you use them. Along with the transits of Jupiter, the South Node, Saturn and Pluto we are also seeing major patterns with Ceres.
Ceres was reclassified in 2006 and is a symbol of demotion and promotion. New power for some, and diminished power for others. If your group, team, club, trade union, political party, rock band, ensemble cast, ballet, orchestra, army unit, secret society (or whatever) is based around power, then expect nuclear levels of implosion for the next eight weeks.
Why? You are going towards Saturn-Pluto in Capricorn, and as this sign is associated with mountains, what happens by January is rather like a mountain under the impact of underground explosive. I really don’t think any of this is a huge surprise to you. Where the group is concerned, or particular circles-upon-circles, you have been expecting something like this.
The biggest and best solutions in 12 years appear in December, and 2020 will solve your issues. Many of these problems have been weighing on you in 2018 as well as 2019 and you must slightly read returning to one situation that you put up with, so nobly.
There are answers. You haven’t seen most of them yet, but there will be a strong ray of hope just after Christmas, as you go towards New Year’s Eve. That is the Jupiter-Sun conjunction and it is rather like Churchill’s famous ‘broad, sunlit uplands.’ He was a Sagittarius, ruled by Jupiter and had an uncanny way of articulating what this planet is all about. Bigger, broader, up – not down. In fact, the only way is up for your social media, friendships and group involvements in 2020.
What Jupiter tends to do, and you will see this in December and January – is fix polluted soil. Nothing can grow until something or someone gets rid of the plastic rubbish. There is an awful lot of life gardening to be done with one particular friend. Perhaps, with a group which has had power over you, as much as you have been part of its power.
We associate Eleventh House transits with P.G.P. (Peer Group Pressure) but also with more formal organisations, like the Freemasons, or Alcoholics Anonymous, or Narcotics Anonymous. We also associate it with professional organisations, like The Astrologers’ Association of Great Britain – or membership subscriptions to The Metropolitan Museum of New York.
Without all these cycles you would all be in it together, pooling resources, getting together and sharing what you have, in order to enjoy some greater goal that benefits everyone. That is putting it politely.
Instead, here we have the grinding wheels of sweeping transformation, because power has not been allocated as it should. Those who never had any control at all, will be empowered by January. Those who took, or took over, will disappear or be demoted. There will be an entirely new social life for many Pisces people or a restructured group, by February.
The trick with these cycles is to take a deep breath and go right in. The ultimate aim, especially with Ceres involved (whom so many astrologers still ignore) is to play your part in a new carve-up, which ensures everybody must play his or her part, in the greater whole. That greater whole has to not only be something which works, in the most practical way – it also has to put everyone in a stronger position, as a collective. As a community.
If you are at a point in your life when friends must be replaced or a group must be abandoned, then so be it. For the most part, though, this intensely sociable Christmas and New Year is about friendship, what it means for you, how it functions in a group, and why you need to make a raft of changes.
