The Full Moon just before Christmas Eve, on Saturday 22nd December, requires time and space. You need a nice gap in your schedule then, so you can mull over the options for your career, university degree, unpaid work, ambition, success and status. This is the time of year when people retire, are promoted, resign, take redundancy or deal with mergers. All this shuffles your own deck of cards and this will not be over until January. It is also part of something in the distant future, coming at Christmas 2019, and that is your own promotion, award, hit project, desirable new role or other big leap. Take things one step at a time, though, and understand that a lot of what is happening in December 2018 depends on all that you’ve been learning over the last 10 years. You’ve woken up to find yourself very powerful. That’s been…interesting! You have also been caught up in people politics and been educated in the way power and control actually works – in your chosen field, profession, business or industry. You will put that to good use again this month. Do continue to think long-term about your highest ambitions, as the top of your personal Everest or Kilimanjaro has seldom looked so hard to climb, but also been so important. Do all you can to keep things behind the scenes, or below the surface, as clear as possible. We might say, crystal-clear, even if the water is cloudy. You will help yourself a great deal if you can keep things very simple and straightforward, no matter if you are covering matters up, operating behind the scenes, Going Underground (to quote The Jam) or spending a great deal of time by yourself. If you intend on attacking or defending others undercover, be extremely careful near Friday 7th and Saturday 29th December as your ruler Mars is in charge of your horoscope then and you could go in too fast and too hard. There will be repercussions if you do that, and in fact the outcome in February, March 2019 could be confused and confusing. Be extremely cautious with any form of internet surveillance, for example, or using a nom de plume online. Take a deep breath and try to focus on what works. You have been living with Neptune, the planet of escapism, for a very long time and what unfolds near the 7th and 29th of December did not gather speed overnight. This is all taking a lot longer than it should have done, because you have been dealing with Venus Retrograde and Mercury Retrograde as well. I’m sure you know that ‘Retrograde’ means you put the prefix ‘re’ in front of everything. Consequently, Aries, you are still going to reconsider, reschedule, perhaps reverse, maybe retract – with your money, business, company, taxation, legacy, insurance, house, apartment, shares – and so on. Keep your eyes on the prize. This goes beyond the cash value of whatever is under discussion. The end game is an agreement that both sides, or all sides, can live with long-term. It would empower everybody. At the moment, you can’t get away from those questions about control and power, because the situation with your former, current or potential partner (or perhaps family) is so complex. There may also be broader questions here about the bank, shareholders, investors, commission and so on. I realise that even after Christmas – which should, by rights, be a time of rest and relaxation – you will be fielding questions about who or what is in charge. The ultimate answer by the end of January is to share in a compromise that is not perfect for any individual person or organisation, but as a whole, is reasonable, fair and is something you can live with. Aries, the more groundwork you did prior to November 2018, the better off you will be. Every little bit helped, as you will see near Thursday 27th December, as the Venus-Ceres conjunction.

Aries, the build-up has been there for you since November and now you will see the start of something very special for 2019. By this time next year, you will have taken the holiday of a lifetime, moved, emigrated, achieved impressive qualifications, taught star pupils, published a book, been accepted into a prestigious course or deepened ties to a foreign person in an unforgettable relationship. Call it An Education. There is a new beginning close to Friday 7th December which is not quite the full story. It’s the same with the good news (genuinely Glad Tidings of Great Joy) near Friday 21st December. Make no mistake, Aries. This is going to be the best early Christmas present ever. Yet, you still won’t be unwrapping the full and final package until the afternoon of Christmas Eve, London time. From that point forward things will snowball in the most wonderful way, and the historic Jupiter-Saturn sextile on Thursday 27th December lets you know – some things are made to last. Any reversals, rescheduling or ‘dress rehearsal’ feeling that you had prior to Christmas will have gone by then, and you will be on your way to a terrific New Year.

Former, Current and Potential Partners – or Enemies
Taurus, it might sound strange to say that the same zone of your chart which rules former, current and potential partners, can also rule those against you. Yet, enemies, rivals or opponents may be just as much a feature of December and January, as your old, current or possible partner too. If you visualise a set of old-fashioned scales, with yourself on one end, and a particular person on the other, you’ll see what this month is all about. Near Saturday 8th December you’ll have a flashback to September or October, as you realise that a particular discussion, paper trail or e-mail trail was not taking you anywhere after all. In fact, it will change, be held up or even reverse (depending on your personal birth chart). This is not the end of the story with this person either, as a compromise must be figured out, between now and January 25th. Then (and only then) can you leave this behind in 2018, as there are questions here about who or what is in charge, and the only answer is an agreement which carves up the territory. We may be talking about a separation or divorce for some Taurus people, but in other cases it may be about the aftermath of a marriage, following a bereavement. There are also less dramatic possibilities – a new relationship or commitment can mean a lot of to-and-fro over the house, money, apartment or possessions. It really depends on what you did, with what you were given, over the last 12 months. Taurus, you were actually given quite a lot, as some pretty amazing opportunities and solutions, involving this person, came your way. Whatever you did to help yourself and lay the groundwork in terms of the two of you, will help you in December, January, as you are slowly emerging from the Jupiter in Scorpio cycle, which made a great leap forward possible. As Lenny Kravitz said, ‘It Ain’t Over’ but it will be over, right at the end of January, if you can take a deep breath and go back to what was originally discussed 2-3 months ago.

This is taking a while to come together for you, Taurus, but there is at least one solid opportunity, and perhaps more than one, regarding your finances, house, apartment, business, company, charity or precious possessions. You can only have this kind of good fortune once every 12 years so please pursue what/who is in front of you, around Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. There would be a milestone agreement in January, as your ruler Venus joins Jupiter – likely in the third week. You stand to make or save money in 2019 and this is the beginning. The New Moon on 7th December will give you tremendous hope for the future, yet don’t be surprised if the details change, get stuck or go backwards and forwards until at least the 25th of December. The trick with this cycle is to show up, smile and look willing. Others are practically wheeling these opportunities out for you, and no matter if this is a legacy, a mortgage, a settlement or even something as low-key as a shared apartment budget, you are on the brink of something really important for 2019. In fact, one door after another will open for you over the next 12 months, right up until the end of November 2019, when you should come up smiling.
Groups and Friendships
The time has come to set boundaries with your friends, and particular groups or circles of people. This is more than drawing a line. It is actually building useful walls and gates, and you really need to do this, to avoid another confused and confusing situation with particular friendships, or the usual bands, clubs, teams, societies, associations, unions, parties and so on. There is potential for a situation to overheat near Friday 7th and Saturday 29th December, but that does not have to happen. Astrology is about avoiding issues and just being aware of the lowered tolerance and patience in the atmosphere will help you sidestep what you don’t need, in the season of Peace and Goodwill. Mars in Pisces is helpful, though. The fact is, it can help you sort things out rapidly, and given the way things have become increasingly unclear – even downright messy – in 2018, the time has come to be firm. You will save yourself a huge amount of time and effort in February, March 2019 if you can be proactive now and preempt any future muddles with one particular friend or group!

You have learned so much about the right way to handle travel, foreign people and places, regional differences, education, academia, the worldwide web and/or the world of books in 2018. As the year ends, you trade on that experience. Near December 20th, 22nd, 29th you will be dealing with the aftermath of choices facing you near the Full Moon on Saturday 22nd December. Take your time and realise that because a Full Moon is about the Sun standing opposite the Moon, you may be ‘facing off’ with a long list of yes and no options. This is normal and just part of life, as you happen to have an astrological chart which is showing complicated compromises. Accepting that will help you figure out your next move. January will develop the story, as you see everything and everybody so clearly. In fact, the most useful spotlight in 12 months will turn on every person and every detail from the final week of December. Clearly, this is a hard-work area in your life. That’s fine. Just remember the trick to this cycle is to use your self-control and willpower, to find your share of the controls in the situation, and also your own power too. This kind of empowerment is rare and important.

Gemini, take your time and think carefully about what you are doing with your career, university or college degree, unpaid work, success, status and ambition in life, near Friday 7th and Saturday 29th December. This could be a confused and confusing time, unless you set a few rules. Boundaries are a good thing, so that everybody involved on a project, plan or task is clear. Unless you do this now, you may find things become even more muddled in February and March 2019. A classic example would be working for a friend or working for a family member. Those rights, roles and responsibilities need to be contained so that you are not crossing the line, and others are not crossing theirs. This takes a bit of effort, but it is worth it. You had a fair bit of help and protection with your work, unpaid work or studies in 2018. That has now gone, so you need to double your efforts, particularly at the Mars-Chiron conjunction on Saturday 29th December. Every action has a reaction. If you go on the attack or defence around that date, you will have to deal with the consequences. This is why the standard advice for this kind of cycle is to slow down and cool down. Play the long game, Gemini. I’m sure you are being shown that there is no such word as ‘impossible’ or ‘unthinkable’ any more in regard to your place in the world, or your ambitions. Yet, this will draw a reaction, so you need to be more than usually thoughtful and cautious about where your words and actions will lead you. Just to repeat – one way or another, this does wash up in February, March 2019 so you need to be strategic about what you are doing with your boss, colleague, client, staff, lecturer, classmates and so on. Gemini, this time of year is always pretty dramatic for your finances, house, apartment, business, shares, insurance, legacies, mortgage and so on. There are a couple of reasons for this. First of all, it’s the time of year when people resign, retire, take new jobs, reshuffle their organisations and the rest, which always affects you, through a ripple effect. Secondly, we have Capricorn ‘weather’ in your chart, and this is the zodiac sign which rules everything that ties you to others, usually within the family or with a partner. Give yourself time and space at the Full Moon (look up and you will see it over your house or apartment, near the night of Saturday 22nd December). This is a moment of truth for you, about what must be done in January 2019. If you feel that all this is an unusually weighty matter, you are right. For the first and last time in your life, you have Saturn, Pluto and the South Node all in this area of your chart. Take your time and take good advice. Believe it or not, from Christmas 2020 you will no longer be sorting out numbers in December and January. Of course, this may be because you see family members at this time of year and they are involved with your own financial, business or property affairs. Whatever the reason, you may have to put the Christmas cake to one side now and concentrate on the agreements made, and the new arrangements to come.

You have been spinning around, to quote Kylie, for several months with an issue that would normally take a few weeks. The reason for this is Mercury Retrograde, but also Venus Retrograde. When planets appear to be standing still for days, and moving backwards, so does life. This would explain why you are yet to have a final answer about a question relating to your job, daily routine, workload, unpaid work, housework – and significantly – your body. You’ll make more progress if you realise this is actually a task for January too. In fact, you won’t finish one matter until the closing days of next month. In the meantime, you have to make a deal with others, particularly at the Venus-Ceres conjunction on Thursday 27th December. This is a complicated relationship, to be sure. It has many layers to it. Yet, you both (or you all) should be able to sort out a compromise over the next few weeks. It may be about time-sharing or power-sharing. This will actually contribute to the greater whole, and by February 2019 you will come to see that September-January was really about creating something brand new, by slowly reshaping your ideas about work, duty and service. You can’t separate your health and fitness from this story. They go together. You are the machine that spins the cogs, in the wider machinery. Thus, it’s time for maintenance and more. Gemini, the story this Christmas is about your former, current or potential partner. This may be plural, so it could be about more than one person too. The news is good. It is also going to change your life next year. As early as Friday 7th December, you’ll see a New Moon in the sky, which will bring a new beginning. Don’t be too concerned if things don’t come together quickly or easily, as even though Friday 21st December makes your heart leap with hope, it’s still not the final story. You’re going to meet with delays, rescheduling, perhaps a reversal – certainly a retold story with this person – until you actually get to Christmas Eve. Certainly, by Boxing Day everything will be laid out in front of you. This is a capital O Opportunity moment. Jupiter solves problems. Jupiter also goes beyond that, to give you the biggest and best. We associate this time of year with couples moving in together, too. It is party season and the Mistletoe is overhead, along with the release of inhibitions that only your Aunt’s lethal punch can deliver. So, Gemini, we have to say that after a very, very long period in your life when nothing was really progressing or moving, it’s all about to roll. You will be sorting things out with this person for most of next year, in terms of who is in charge, and how you two are going to share the controls. No matter if this is about a son or daughter in your lives (if you are married) or a brand-new relationship, trust in the future. This is going to take work next year, but you will never, ever forget the turning point that Christmas brought you. Be open to change. Say yes.

Gemini, sometimes this cycle (above) is not about your former, current or potential partner. If fighting is more important to you than loving, then it may well be that you are dealing with a feud or battle this Christmas. It works for you. It works really, really well for you – particularly from Christmas Eve until the end of the month. This may be because your opponent is so weak that she/he increases your own power and strength. There may be other reasons. Just be aware that if you do set things in motion, you will spend most of 2019 trying to sort out the aftermath. This doesn’t just end in December or even January. Cancer, if you are planning to travel, publish a book or new website, relocate, enroll in a new course or welcome a traveller or foreign connection next February, March you may want to get it in writing now – and check the fine print – as there is a chance of rescheduling or plan changes in those months. Even if you are not planning that far ahead, you still need to do a bit of maintenance now, near Friday 7th and Saturday 29th December. Slowing down and cooling down (even if it is quite cold where you are on those dates) is very wish. It’s all too easy to push back too hard, or rush things, under these astrological conditions. You do need to set some firm boundaries, though. Without boundaries this situation could be rather confused and confusing. Some good old-fashioned common-sense rules would be useful. This may be particularly relevant if you are on vacation over Christmas or welcoming a traveller from another region or country. This would also apply to those of you enrolling in college or university or finishing a book, website or thesis for the end of 2018.
Former, Current and Potential Partners
You are ruled by the Moon as you know. When the Full Moon takes place on Saturday 22nd December with the Sun in your opposite sign of Capricorn and the Moon herself in your own sign of Cancer, you will need more time and space. This is only natural if you are on your own for Christmas and yet must deal with the absence of a partner – but there are all sorts of reasons why this Full Moon suggests you might like a diary with some extra wiggle room. You are an emotional water sign, ruled by your feelings and when the Moon and Sun are in opposite signs like this, you can feel at odds with yourself, or at odds with the other person. The truth is, you have never experienced Pluto, Saturn and the South Node in Capricorn, your opposite sign, in your lifetime. You never will again. As you go into 2019, 2020 you will be drawing on all your experience since 2008, as the time has come to deepen your understanding of what it means to be powerful, and what it means to be in control. Karma is calling from about 19 years ago. January decisions will follow, about or for this person. Cancer, this has been a long and drawn-out story with the pregnancy, son, daughter, young relative, stepchild, adoption or similar. Your paid or unpaid efforts with youth and younger people are also in this category, as is any lover where there is a question mark about unplanned parenthood or existing offspring from another relationship. You may be wondering when it’s all going to be sorted out. January is your answer. December is really about rescheduling, rethinking or going back to the drawing board for other reasons. A classic example would be a Cancerian teacher who finds the agenda with her student’s changes. The Venus-Ceres conjunction on Thursday 27th December feels rather more personal, though. We associate Ceres with compromises made over time-sharing and the carving up of responsibility and particular rights and roles. Given the developments in your opposite sign of Capricorn, a great many Cancerian people will be committing or splitting by January. Even if life is not this dramatic (and your personal chart tells the full story) you may find that it takes you until the very end of January to sign off on this episode. Ultimately, what you both or all decide must be something practical that everyone can live with for the rest of 2019. It’s worth the work.

We have a couple of false (but good) starts ahead this month. The opportunity or solution you need is out there, but even though there is a new beginning near Friday 7th December, and some really high hopes, following a key piece of news at the Mercury-Jupiter conjunction – it won’t be until Christmas Eve, or Christmas Day, that everything is signed, sealed and delivered. Around Thursday 27th December you should be able to lock things in. This may be a new job or project for 2019. A turning point for your health or wellbeing. A special new direction in your student life. Cancer, you are in a fantastic new cycle when the solutions and opportunities will not stop coming. In fact, they will surround you until this time next year. This is just the start. It’s a slow start, as you may have been counting on particular plans which now have to change, but you will be on track for an unusually satisfying Christmas. This is a very good time to look for post-Christmas work as reshuffles all around you, into January, may well give you the opening you need.

Your house, apartment, household, family, hometown or homeland question has been unresolved since September, Leo. A complicated relationship is involved. December will involve rescheduling or rethinking. What takes place near Saturday 8th December is a replay of what you may have thought was final in mid-September or the last week of October. The final outcome will involve a compromise which will change the situation with your home, property, local area, country, relatives, landlord, tenants or flatmates for the remainder of 2019 and you will resolve this by Friday January 25th. Try to leave the emotions out of it, as you must both/all come up with a practical way of sharing the control, which everybody can stick to long-term. This is particularly important near December 27th-30th. Leo, the more opportunities you took in 2018, or the more solutions you pursued, the better off you will be, as you were preparing the ground very well for changes.

High hopes for the biggest and best with your son, daughter, godchild, young relative, youth project or plans involving children as a whole, surge near Friday 21st December. Before this, the New Moon on 7th December is a fresh start, yet the details will not be in place until Christmas Eve, December 25th. From that point on, Leo, you are on your way. This may be about a pregnancy or adoption – or a new relationship which could end in step-parenting or childbirth. You will be thrilled by a new agreement near January 22nd which is the next step forward. For now, you will go backwards and forwards, thanks to issues with communication, computers, transport, commuting, travel or telephones. Near Saturday 29th December, there is no ‘impossible’ or ‘unthinkable’ as the Chiron-Mars conjunction reveals the new normal! Leo, if your discussions or paperwork includes February 20th to April 17th next year, make sure that you have flexibility then, as the story will change, come to a standstill or even reverse in the first quarter, and start of the second quarter, 2019.

Your former, current or potential partner is in sharp focus near Friday 7th December and again near Saturday 29th December. Boundaries is the magic word, as usual. You may be crossing the line or find that he/she is unclear about where things should stop. It can be very confusing when this happens and although the situation is confined to December, you may want to think longer-term about this. From around February 20th to April 17th the discussions, plans or paperwork between you could easily stall, reverse or become complicated. The more you can do now to keep life simple, clear and understood – the better. At this time of year there is more alcohol around than usual – and other substances too – and this is unlikely to help. When it all works between you, it is a holiday from the real world. A genuine escape. However, like any holiday, you need to have a few boring rules to make sure it all goes smoothly. Neptune is a symbol of ‘everybody, everywhere, all over the place, all the time’ and something about the chemistry you two share, produces just this effect! Being aware is half the battle. I don’t need to mention that there is an attack or defence mechanism being triggered either. You probably feel that, even as you are reading this. At the Mars-Chiron conjunction on Saturday 29th December, try to remove any heat or urgency from the situation affecting you both. It’s fine to see where the line just moved to, and what is possible or acceptable these days. It’s unhelpful to have any hint of conflict between you, or a third party. As I said, this washes up from late February to April next year so bear that in mind when you put anything in writing that might affect that period.
Virgo, sometimes the focus on this transit is not your former, current or potential partner – but an enemy. A rival, opponent or foe. This is because you pour your energy into the feud, not so much a partnership. If this sounds more like you, then be extremely careful with the other side, as you need strong walls, barriers, defences and checks. Do not let anything or anybody drift past or get under the gate. You also need to develop a strategy after Christmas. Use your time off, to come up with a plan. Be utterly practical about what you can get away with – or should get away with – these days. The Full Moon on Saturday 22nd December reminds you to slow down and give yourself more time and space, Virgo. The heart of the matter is a pregnancy, adoption, stepchild, godchild, youth plan (for example, a university class or children’s charity), son, daughter, young relative or lover. The latter would be a gateway to big questions about step-parenting, fertility or contraception. This Full Moon is more important than most of them, because you are also dealing with a triple line-up of Saturn, the South Node and Pluto in this same area of your chart. You cannot rush this. There are no quick and easy answers. In fact, Virgo, it will not be until Christmas 2020 that you slowly ease out of this phase, which involves a tremendous amount of learning. The Getting of Wisdom, you might say. The South Node suggests you have been here before, with a similar story or theme, around 19 years ago. This may even stretch back into past lives. Pluto tells you that you need to figure out a new balance of power either with this younger face, or another person who is very much involved. This is why time and space are so essential around 22nd December, because it may not be until January that you can say you’ve finally got this sorted out for now. You’ll welcome a bigger solution, this time next year and realise that everything now, had its part to play.
Your New Home, Family, Property or Household Waits
Everything takes time when we have Mercury Retrograde around. The final shadow does not fall until Christmas Eve and then you are in the clear, regarding the details of your home improvements, relocation, relative, flatmate, live-in partner, town or country. Even though we have a New Moon on Friday 7th December and with it – a new beginning – and even though your hopes are raised enormously near the 21st – you’re still not quite there yet. Anything from computer issues, to telephone obstacles, delayed mail, misunderstandings, changed minds to extreme weather could get in the way. Don’t be put off, though. You are right to have skyrocketing hopes for a bigger, better 2019 a few days before Christmas. From Christmas Eve you are on your way and by Boxing Day, the year ahead looks loaded with astonishing potential. No matter what you have to overcome (if there are problems) or how high you are aiming (if you just want more) the door is well and truly open, and the welcome mat is out, from 24th December. Around 27th December when Jupiter forms a perfect semi-sextile to Saturn, you can think about making things permanent, with a really astonishing handshake agreement around 22nd January. You want, need and deserve a family life or household that feels like a sanctuary. You also want and need the very best from your home town or homeland. Slowly but surely, Virgo, that is just where you are headed.

Hang in there. This is all taking a ridiculously long time to come together, as you have been dealing with people who do not reply to emails; second and third attempts; muddled multimedia; telephone issues – and more. Do go back and check with someone if you haven’t heard more about your project, plan, book, website, blog, television or radio concern, newspaper, magazine, degree or workshop by the time you read this. There is every chance they’ve been calling the wrong number. The good news is, you are now seeing wheels turn again, after a long period (September, October, November) when the wheels went backwards and forwards. You have been waiting for Venus and Mercury to both move out of the loop and this takes place in two stages – from December 12th, and a little later, from December 18th. This will help you so much with the task at hand, which is an important compromise. You, he, she and/or they must agree to differ, perhaps, over your very different needs and wants. Yet, there is every chance of a decent new arrangement which allows you all, or both, to carve up the control. This would be in place, once and for all, by January 25th, 2019. Treat this as a longer game than you probably thought, Virgo, but do bear in mind that every single solution you seized, or opportunity you took, in 2018 will now stand you in good stead. You were laying great foundations, you see, and despite the to-and-fro nature of discussions, plans, scheduling or agreement, if you did all you could possibly do prior to November 8th then this final compromise by January 25th is that much easier.

Libra, you have been living with Neptune in the workload, health, fitness and lifestyle zone of your chart since 2011 so you have had around 7 years to get used to the non-reality and unreality of everyday life. It bears no relationship at all to the way you used to function, 2010 and earlier, but it has also become so commonplace that you may not be fully aware of just how removed from the real world, things have drifted. Very close to Friday 7th December you need to step back from the situation and try to view it as an objective outsider might. If you are using drugs (even prescribed drugs) or alcohol regularly then this will have an impact, as Neptune rules all substances which distort reality for us. Have a look at that, if it applies to you. There is always a risk with these cycles that life can become confused, and you can muddle yourself or other people. This is especially true when it comes to housework, household staff, your paid work, unpaid work or university degree. It is particularly relevant when it comes to your food, drink, drugs, healers, doctors, surgeons, fitness, meditation, yoga and the rest. In fact, in astrology, we do not separate the job you do, from the shape you are in, and one affects the other. We have a Mars-Chiron conjunction on Saturday 29th December, just after Christmas, which challenges you to see what you can get away with. What is the so-called impossible or unthinkable at the moment? What is allegedly ‘outrageous’ but nevertheless something quite achievable for 2019, with your work, lifestyle, body or service and duty to others? My only comment would be to slow down and cool down. There is a fair bit of heat showing in December, and I’m aware of particular deadlines and outcomes for you from around February 20th to April 17th. That particular phase for your working life or body is likely to give you so much rescheduling, rethinking and reorganisation anyway, that you may want to bear it in mind, if those timelines crop up in all that you’re discussing after Christmas. If ever there was a month to slow down, cool down, get real and keep it simple, it has to be December. This goes right across your entire lifestyle and workload. I know the Christmas champagne is on ice but watch that too. It all counts.

You need to be kind to yourself and other people at the Full Moon on Saturday 22nd December. I would allow the day before and day after, for the world to catch up with itself. It’s Christmas anyway, which is nuts, but as you are also dealing with the biggest challenges in 240+ years, you need to deliberately factor in more time and space in your diary. By now, you are more than used to figuring out the politics with family members, flatmates, landlords, tenants, or anyone else who affects your peace of mind about the family circle – or your home life. In fact, Libra, you’ve had 8 years of this now and you know what not to do! January sorts a great deal of this out for you. Not once and for all (that happens in around a year from now, at Christmas 2019) but just for the moment. The fact is, you can’t rush these things. With Saturn there too, you have to be patient and realise that we all have a load to carry with this cycle, and yours in particular is about a relative, flatmate, house, apartment, or even your town or country. Relief and release will come when Jupiter comes in to help at Christmas 2019, but for now, you have to put one foot in front of the other. Agree to a temporary compromise in January which distributes the controls differently between both of you/all of you. In the meantime, accept the things you cannot change. Do check your personal birth chart (if you are a Premium Member) to see if you have Sagittarius factors. Many Libra people do, and if you qualify, you are on the brink of the most fantastic project in 12 years, which would work online, or in the real world – on paper. Even if you don’t have Sagittarius factors, or don’t know your chart, you can still trust December to deliver. You’ve had all these little signs and clues that you would have far more choices than you ever dreamed of, in terms of the internet, education or publishing – than you’ve seen for months. Even years. Nothing has really come together, because you have been living with Mercury Retrograde, but the final shadow ends on Christmas Eve and then you’ll be flying. There is a landmark agreement around the third week of January that you should be welcoming. This may be a book deal for some of you; a media coup; a podcast; script; play; new piece of technology; film; course; degree; feature; blog. Space does not allow for all the possibilities, but some of you will be starting new projects or jobs where you take your way with words, ideas and images to the highest possible level in years. Libra, you’ll see a fresh start near Friday 7th December and be thrilled at the options near Friday 21st December. The real fun begins from Christmas Eve, though, as from that point forward everything progresses as it should and that will take you to the third week of January when a smile and a handshake (or hug) seal the deal. Libra, the more time and energy you poured into making money (or saving it) in 2018, the better off you will be. If you laid foundations, using every solution and opportunity you were given, you will now be helped enormously. The fact is, you are working towards a really important compromise. The moment of truth will take place near the Venus-Ceres conjunction on Thursday 27th December, just after Christmas. You may want to put a price on the things money cannot buy. The emotions run deep at this point and it goes way beyond your own money, house, apartment, possessions, shares, business, company or charity interests. This is really about power and control, if we’re honest about it, and that’s why you need to try and step back from the feelings and look at what is going to work, long-term. You will find two ‘bumps’ on the path. The first bump that moves things along is Mercury going out of Retroshadow near December 12th. Then Venus follows, near December 18th. After that, you have sorted out the very last unfinished conversations or delayed paperwork, going back as far as September or October. After that, you can put your head down and aim for a new arrangement where you, he, she or they can accept the realities, carve up the control and be smart enough to see that emotions may run very deep, but they have to be put to one side, if this is to work well.

Very close to Friday 7th December, you may want to remember what happens when you lose your footing, forget about boundaries and go with the flow. You have had about 8 years to find out, Scorpio! The time is right to keep things clear, simple, structured and real. You can have the escapism you have enjoyed to date with your son, daughter, youth-related projects and plans, lover, young relative or godchild. This has been a holiday from reality for quite a long time, and you deserve that. Yet – it takes a lot of effort to ensure a vacation from ‘real’ goes according to plan. This is really what December is about. Put some boundaries in, or reinstate them, if the lines are being crossed, or lost in some way. Tis’ the season to be jolly and all that, but alcohol and drugs won’t help, if you are determined to sort things out. None of this would normally be such a big deal, except for the fact that February-April could unravel arrangements, muddle the plans, delay the organisation or even reverse things. The more you can do now, the better. Very close to Saturday 29th December, right after Christmas (a crucial time, even without astrology) you have to address this question again. This time round, you need to look at what is acceptable, permitted, or about to have its day. If eyebrows are raised up, down and sideways you’ll know it’s time for that particular hypothetical to be tested, Scorpio. Throughout December, please note that the potential for too much emotional heat is there. You don’t really need that at Christmas, even though we know the festive season is notorious for it! Astrology is about awareness. If you don’t want the heat, don’t even enter into a ‘dance’ which raises the temperature. Scorpio, cut yourself and other people some slack at the Full Moon on Saturday 22nd December. As my readers come from Auckland and Los Angeles alike, allow the 21st, 23rd as well, as we live on a 24-hour internet hamster wheel! The time and space are required around the Full Moon, which you will clearly see over the top of your house or apartment then. Remind yourself there is no perfect. Just a way of dealing. This all takes place in your Third House, which rules the worldwide web, the media, spoken word, writing, education (for obvious reasons) and communication in general. At a core level it is about your voice, across all mediums, and your ability to hear, read, speak and write. At a more complex level it is about foreign language and HTML. Scorpio take it slowly. Give yourself a really long time-frame for various projects, plans and ideas. You will be delighted at the mother of all solutions or opportunities in about a year from now, but this is the time of year when you have to learn the lessons, accept the realities and cut yourself some slack. One thing I would say – if you are asked to commit to a project, plan or concept on that Full Moon, be sharply aware of who and what you are in for, long term.
Making or Saving a Small Fortune in 2019
You are prime to make or save a small fortune in 2019 and it begins now, in a rather complicated way. You are off to a slow start with high hopes. The high hopes are justified, and in fact by this time next year, you may have exceeded your own expectations. The New Moon on Friday 7th December (allow a day either side) is about the fresh start or new chapter. Yet, you are not really across the paperwork, discussion or agreements just yet, as despite skyrocketing optimism near Friday 21st December, it will not be until Christmas Eve that you are finally in possession of all the facts and figures. These things take time, to quote The Smiths, and you need to honour the long Mercury Retrograde cycle, which does not stop until the final shadow on December 24th. You would certainly expect to see wheels turning no later than Boxing Day and a really astonishing agreement is possible in the third week of January. Expect the best. This applies if you are raising money for a good cause, hoping to pull off a major corporate coup, organising a new eBay outlet or dropping out to grow your own food. I can’t tell you how much potential is showing in your chart. Go slow, go sideways, go backwards and forwards – but from Christmas, go forward and do, what a Scorpio does, so well.

By rights, all the ‘Me’ issues should have been final in November at the very latest, but even now you are catching up. You have been living with both Mercury Retrograde and Venus Retrograde in Scorpio, your own zodiac sign. Nothing has really come together as it should, because of communication issues, the mail, email, computers in general, multimedia or similar. You need to give this more time and energy and more patience, as things will not be fully resolved until January. This is a process! Don’t be surprised if what you thought was final, was just a rehearsal, as the first two weeks of December will show you. This may be an issue with a website bearing your name; social media (also bearing your name), business cards or a publicity campaign. There may be issues here about letters after your name, if you just graduated, or your new job title if you are switching careers. There is a second clunk sound as Venus returns to normal in Scorpio from around December 18th. Then, you know where you stand. From that point on nothing else is going to get stuck or change and you can proceed to a really important compromise about how you are seen, heard or registered, on the internet – and in the real world. Sagittarius, if you are planning to move, renovate, organise a family reunion, book Airbnb, attend to home repairs, deal with a crucial council issue or even residency questions, look at the dates. If these happen to fall between approximately February 20th and April 17th, make sure the agreements you have now are in writing, but can be changed with your permission. Cover yourself for potential delays, cancellations or even reversals in that time, as Mercury Retrograde is up ahead, next year. You are certainly going to face crucial questions about how you live, where you live, with whom you live – but also deeper concerns about where you come from, where you belong to, and where your roots are. Near Friday 7th December life could be confusing unless you put some boundaries in. This may be with a family member, live-in partner or flatmate. Simple things like personal space or line-crossing (forgetting the lines which separate the role of relative, from other roles) are good examples of this. There may even be concerns here about water (which Neptune rules) and potential flooding, plumbing and so on. Just be aware of this, Sagittarius. Near Friday 7th December, no matter if it’s the space, the place or the people – keep it real, keep it clear and keep it simple. I do feel as if this whole area of your life is under reconstruction. In fact, near Saturday 29th December when Mars conjuncts Chiron, you seem likely to be faced with wild new possibilities. What or whom is unacceptable these days? Out of the question? Outrageous? Sagittarius, you may prefer to avoid December 21st, 22nd, 23rd for big judgement calls or action plans regarding Christmas shopping, the January sales, your end-of-year bonus, property leases or purchases/sales, business end-of-year decisions, redundancy settlements and the rest. We have a Full Moon, you see, on Saturday 22nd December. This is always D-Day and in fact many important military battles in history were conducted on Full Moons. They needed the light. Today, we just use astrology as a timing device, and although light will be shed on what you earn, own or owe – you are also dealing with a tug-of-war inside yourself, or with people or organisations which are at polar opposites with you. I would not normally stress this Full Moon on 22nd December so much, but you are also living with Saturn, Pluto and the South Node in your zone of finance. This is a long-haul thing and you need to give yourself a ton of breathing space, so you can figure out a strategy for 2019. The good news is, from Christmas 2019 (about a year away) there will be incredible solutions and huge answers which benefit you financially into 2020. For now, though, just work your way through this, one step at a time.

Keep believing in your appearance, your name, your title, your image, your brand. It works incredibly well for you in 2019 and in fact, everything is pointing to a relaunch. Even if the rebirth in question is delayed or changes shape – keep believing. Have faith in the renaissance of ‘Me’ as this is your year. We only see Jupiter in your First House of image, ruled by the sign of Sagittarius, every 12 years. You have been given a slow or uncertain start to this new renaissance period, but the return of you – You, You, You – has been a long time coming. This whole period in your life is like Elvis Presley’s comeback or the return of The Spice Girls. New look? Maybe. New twist on an old shape, face, haircut, wardrobe? Why not? I realise there has been a fair bit of history for you, here, if you are of an age to have gone through critical years for image and appearances, before 2008. You may be wondering if things will ever be fully finished, with your secret, classified project, confidential plans, life behind the scenes, period of solitude, inner life, private mysteries or hidden self! You were on track a while ago then you found other people did not get back to you, or you hit obstacles with organisations which did not deliver as they should. You may also have had basic computer issues, which Mercury Retrograde is notorious for. You will see a replay, across the first two weeks of December. This will put you straight. You’ll see what is, not what was (particularly as it stood in late October). From that point forward, you get to deal. It gets even easier from 19th December when a more personal angle, for you or someone else, is straightened out. After that, it becomes clear that you need to figure out a new deal or compromise. You will do this by the end of January, then you can park this whole matter for 2019. The more effort you put into a particular solution or opportunity before November, the better off you’ll be.

You’re now nearing halfway through a communication cycle which began in 2011, all tangled up with the Worldwide Web, but also with communication as a whole. Near Friday 7th December you may want to step back from the internet, the ideas, the course, project, plans (or even the core issue about being heard and getting through). This could be useful as you don’t have a Mars-Neptune conjunction all that often. We associate this cycle with the internet as an escape, or holiday from reality. Actually, all forms of communication can become that, and poetry, Skype or television lend themselves to this idea. There are no boundaries near the 7th and you may want to be aware of that. If there is a particular outcome or deadline centered on late February 2019 through April, look twice. That particular period will be dotted with delays or changes throughout, so if you do happen to be agreeing to something now, make sure it has enough space for you to factor in a slowdown, standstill or reschedule/rewrite later on. If you are buying or repairing phones or computers near the 7th do get everything in writing and read the fine print. The same goes for website or blog start-ups, new courses or workshops and so on. Around Saturday 29th December a similar issue presents itself. Where are the boundaries with all that you see, heard, read and write online? Where are the goalposts moving to these days? Where are the new lines in the sand?

The Full Moon on Saturday 22nd December finds the Sun in your own sign opposite the Moon in Cancer, across from you. This describes the person opposite you, balancing the scales. Think of a double-act, duet or balancing act and you’ll be close. Your former, current or potential partner is not necessarily going to present you with a smooth and easy 72-hour trail. December 21st, 22nd, 23rd are likely to be full of questions without simple or fast answers. We also associate the Twelfth House with counselling, psychologists, psychics, dreams and anyone/anything which accesses your inner self. This cycle is about you laid bare, and whatever is at home, under lock and key. It is also about that part of you which dreams, crosses time and space boundaries, and survives you after you pass. It’s that time of year when the credit cards come out and the shopping, spending or grateful receipt is far more important. In astrology, there is another reason for the intense focus on all that you earn, own or owe. It is the Mars-Neptune conjunction of Friday 7th December, and it has the potential to be rather confusing. This would not be the end of it, either. You could be still trying to sort out who fits where, who owes what, and where the numbers count – between late February and April next year! If you are negotiating and talking about February, March or April as a final deadline or outcome, make sure that what you are discussing goes in writing and also allows plenty of room for changes or delays, in the first quarter of 2019. That is a smart move based on the arrival of Mercury Retrograde at that time. In general, Aquarius, December is about realising that you are now living in quite a different space with your charity, house, apartment, business, possessions or company. Everything is bent out of shape, not once, but twice, both near 7th December and again near the 29th. As things could move too fast, and either you or others are going in too hard, you may prefer to keep December simple, straightforward, contained and controlled. If you’re redrawing the map of what is possible, permitted, practical and all the rest these days, you don’t really want to be rushing it, or creating new parameters under any kind of pressure.

The Full Moon on Saturday 22nd December suggests the 21st, 22nd, 23rd are days when a moment of truth is just a thought away. Nobody else really knows or understands what matters, at that time. It may involve something you can’t even write in a diary. This is really about the stuff of the psychiatrist’s couch, or the naked truth about who you are, when everything else is stripped away. It’s about whatever truth drug is at large in your life and what you might say when not fully conscious, or even under the influence. You have been living with Pluto in this zone of your chart since 2008 and Saturn and the South Node recently joined in. This means that what lies beneath is a much bigger deal than usual and it demands a lot more time and space, and certainly more solitude.

It does take rather a long time for everything to come together on a Mercury Retrograde cycle, but don’t just let things slide. You have been handed an intriguing number of contacts, possibilities, helping hands, clues and signs since November 1st. Just because nothing major has yet begun to roll does not mean you shrug and give up. In fact, Aquarius, things look inspiring around Friday 7th and Saturday 8th, when a party may bring you all together. Even if you are watching television that weekend, there is still something in the air online. Moving along to the stunning Mercury-Jupiter conjunction of Friday 21st December, that’s another pre-Christmas weekend when the cards, the online greetings or the get-togethers will usher in something quite special. The final outcome won’t really make sense or be written in stone until Christmas Eve, Christmas Day or Boxing Day, but from that point on, you will be so pleased that you have particular friends or groups in your life. And, Aquarius, if there have been any issues at all with the team, the club, the friend, the political party, the band and so on – trust Jupiter to throw a solution!

It has been such a long time since you started off on this path, and September or October were never going to be the end of the matter! The over-arching story will not end until the final days of January and that is really about coming to an agreement with others about how you are all to make things work long-term. The more you did, prior to November, the better. You will have created some good things there, which help you a great deal now. A game of musical chairs (not Game of Thrones – but chairs) is in progress and when the music stops you must find a chair that suits you. People politics, power and influence – clout, if you like – is what is at stake here. Not just somewhere else to sit behind a desk, or at a table. One way or another you will all make this work by late January.
