The cycle began with a shadow in July and ends with a shadow in early September. Remember to put the prefix ‘re’ in front of everything in August. It’s a good month to rehearse. You will no doubt have to reschedule. You will hear retractions. There may be product recall that directly affects you. Politicians will reverse their decisions too!
It’s all about the younger generation in August. Your son and/or daughter. The godchildren or nieces. Your nephews, stepchildren or grandchildren. We have a lot of Leo weather in August and this is about the Fifth House of your horoscope, ruled by the zodiac sign of Leo, the King and Queen of the jungle, with their cubs. You will be thrilled – overjoyed – with what comes to pass as you realise it is the children or young people who matter most. They need to be happy and they will be, if you think about the holiday home, the house, the apartment, the temporary apartment, the local parks or protected forest/wilderness/woods as theirs. Of course, you and your former, current or potential partner are in there too – or a close friend or family member. Yet, it is about the young in August.
You have Jupiter, the planet of blessings, in your zone of intimacy and property – close relationships and the good life – for the first time in 12 years. He makes strong patterns in your Eighth House (holiday homes, land, apartments) which work well with the rest of your chart now. Dates to watch for developing Leo weather include the 11th, 17th, 19th, 27th and 30th (allow 24 hours either side for your time zone as astrology time is London time). Aries, this is not a straightforward situation. You may all go backwards and forwards, or even get stuck in a moment in time. Pisces weather in your horoscope is about friends, acquaintances and the group – that rather fascinating collection of people where there are no boundaries. You will spend August, as a grounded and down-to-earth Taurus, figuring out how to fit this into your life. Do you lose the plot and plunge into this other world? Do you walk away, shaking your head? Maybe you just need to put your toes in the water rather than plunge in. One person in particular, who may have the Sun in Pisces (born February-March) or a strong Pisces chart signature, is likely to tempt you further. He is intriguing, not remotely of this world, open to the mysteries of life, art, culture and science – and has something genuine to offer you. Taurus, you might even call this solid gold. The issue for you is likely to be that he is so far removed from what you know and trust that it can all feel a little confronting. Yet, there is always something to gain from a Neptune transit in Pisces and perhaps you can set boundaries. Contain and control the experience so that you don’t lose yourself in this group, where everybody is all over the place, all the time! If we’re going to look at specific dates here, the Jupiter-Neptune trine on Sunday 19th August is the stand-out. Jupiter is about opportunities, expansion, growth and ‘more is better.’ Here we see this planet making a stunning, flowing pattern with Neptune, which always opens the gate to other ways of living and experiencing life. Sometimes it’s just about the alcohol and the company – it can be that basic. Sometimes it’s more profound, so you find yourself with a Quantum Mechanics student who wants you to enter into the Multiverse with him! Jupiter in Scorpio is very much about potential relationships so if you qualify for that, one particular man might be up for an experiment with you. In most cases, though, you are going to feel the Neptune in Pisces side of this cycle, which is very much about making new friends, getting to know old friends better – and getting ‘in the swim’ with a particular society, community, band, political party, charity and so on. If ever a situation needed nets, warning flags, rules, a light house and anchor though – this is it. You could so easily end up over your head, Taurus.

The great thing about having experienced Uranus (space, freedom, excitement) in Aries (friends, groups) for so many years is the build-up. Money! Cancer, with the huge amount of Leo weather now sweeping your horoscope, the Second House of your chart, where you deal with charity, business, banks, cryptocurrency, shares, possessions and the rest – you have big decisions to make. There is obviously an ambition in the background. Your personal Mount Everest, which you know is always there. With the right kind of deal or trade-off you might be able to shorten the distance between yourself and that towering, tempting achievement. You have Uranus backtracking over the top of your chart until early 2019 and that is where we find your mission and path – at the very highest level. Is it really so impossible to get there in terms of your status in life or success? Perhaps not, if a certain sum of money can be put to that particular use.
Cancer, there is a more urgent need for immediate results, though. This is not the far-off mountain top of supreme achievement or status in the world. It’s a lot closer and more accessible. We might call this unfinished business, in terms of work. The reason it’s unfinished is simply that Uranus has gone out of Aries but will soon be back into that sign. So, he is not finished there, and as this sign rules your career, university degree or unpaid work, you should be looking at what is half-done. This is also where a good investment could be made.
The trick with August is to understand what a dollar, pound or euro is actually worth, both to you and other people. How are you to meet someone halfway on an important project or idea, with so much potential? There are a few issues here about who is King or Queen in the relationship. We have quite a lot of Leo weather at the moment and Leo is about the person sitting on the throne, wearing the crown. Is it you, or is it the man with the brainwave? Figuring out status is crucial as this plan could be incredibly successful given enough time, space, care, thought and luck.
As early as Wednesday 8th August when Venus in Libra in your Third House of ideas, opposes Chiron in Aries, in your Ninth House of big concepts, you see the issue. Venus opposes Salacia also in these same chart zones on Friday 10th August and then on Saturday 11th August, Minerva in Aries in your Ninth House of potentially world-beating ideas, also stations retrograde. This means she stands still. Leo, I think that August 7th-12th is going to be crucial to success with this man. He needs to meet you halfway. You need to meet him halfway! That is what Venus in your zone of communication, the worldwide web, publishing, education, academia and multimedia is all about. It’s a duet or balancing act. You need to negotiate something that is a win-win at this time.
On Saturday 18th August, Diana – an important asteroid and daughter of Jupiter – stands still in your chart. Whenever this happens it’s like having someone hammer the point home, again and again. Essentially, you two need to co-operate and collaborate to make sure this potentially special plan takes hold and becomes a success. Yet, Diana reminds you of the need for space, respect for other people’s space, and understanding on both sides. Maybe that is why this man has been so hesitant in August. The Eighth House of your horoscope is all about your extended family – the ancestors – and the way their destiny affects yours too. We talk about inheritance when we come to cycles in this house of your chart. The Eighth House, ruled by Aries, is associated with the last will and testament and legacies in general. Of course, there are many different ways of leaving a legacy. You can pass on your skills, contacts, talents, beliefs, philosophies and the rest to a younger generation. We now come to quite a mysterious cycle in your life when the planet Uranus, a symbol of new beginnings, independence day and freedom, goes in and out of this zone of your chart. Leo weather is here and it is really about your friends and the group you belong to. Are you involved with a Taurus friend or another Libra companion? This would make sense as you are experiencing similar/the same cycles. Libra, you only have the North Node of karma in this zone of your chart quite rarely. In fact, it has been 19 years since you saw this cycle. For many people born under your sign, what goes down in August (and it will be joyous; a karmic reward) will have a direct connection with all you did at the turn of the New Millennium. The time has come to liberate yourself from a situation which restricts you, Scorpio. You must feel tied down at the moment, emotionally and psychologically. There is a good reason for this! Uranus, the planet of freedom and independence, is going backwards and forwards, in and out of two areas of your chart. Thus, you feel temporarily high and dry and precious autonomy and space must feel very far away.
This is an illusion. I know that you must feel quite vulnerable as you have been living with Uranus in your opposite sign of Taurus for some time. This has brought opposing forces, or opponents, or opposition of another kind. Yet, the time has also come to face who or what you feel has been against you or encircled you. It takes courage to do this but it will also be the making of you. Some things could hurt. That is absolutely true – yet what is the alternative? You cannot spend August continuing to feel so trapped. And the irony is, you are not trapped at all. Oh, it would take a fair bit of determination to see the process through, but once you use what you fear could hurt you, to set yourself free, you will be up, over and out. From there you can shake yourself back into a word where all things are possible. Travel. A different house, apartment or holiday home. New possibilities around your region or even further away. Liberate yourself with Uranus in Taurus by using who/what you feel has been against you, to set yourself free. A lot of this is about seeing clearly. At the moment, a series of eclipses has blinded you to the truth of your situation. Scorpio is a fixed sign, tremendously determined and powerful when she/he wants to be, and ruled by Pluto, you have unbelievable willpower. So, get to it. Surely you don’t want to stay blind to what might be out there for you, or stuck fast in this rigid situation left over from July? Sure, you have been a victim of the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune. Maybe you would call it misfortune. Leave them behind. Don’t make them a prison for yourself. The focus in August is on work, money, success, status, people politics, business and ‘the system’ as a whole. Getting to grips with this and finding your way through will help you long-term. In fact, you need to understand what makes people tick, especially when they want so very much to be at the top. You have a lot of cycles taking place at the moment – heavy Saturn and powerful Pluto in Capricorn, the sign of the mountain goat who becomes C.E.O. or President or Manager. This is also the retired grandfather who is head of the dynasty! In your house of work, you are living with Uranus, the planet that always threatens change, because it makes personal freedom and independence such an issue, either for you or other people in your career, unpaid work sphere or university life. You tend to get a feeling of imminent lightning bolts and rolling storms with Uranus, as if something (or someone) has to give.
We are also entering Virgo Season so the Sun is moving up to the top of your chart, which is where you deal with your boss, client, colleague or competitor. Well, the story continues in August. I realise that you have been nailed, or hammered (to coin a phrase) by situations or people which you feel are potentially still very painful to deal with. No matter what you have been dealing with, you are now at a point where you can break free. It begins by admitting that you can’t see. Who on earth could see anything after all the eclipses we have been experiencing across the Leo-Aquarius axis of your chart? Eclipses conceal they never reveal. History tells us eclipses cover things up. They mask them. They obscure them. Because you have been so personally affected, you are now at a point where you are living on imagination, guesswork and not much else.
August is about facing your fear and loathing and using it. Put it to practical use to set yourself free. Don’t just stay stuck. Take a risk and see what happens when you expose yourself to the sharp edges of who/what you still feel surrounds you so much. It is those sharp edges which will help you get rid of what traps, restricts and confines you. Then you can set yourself free, by allowing yourself to see. Actually, this goes beyond allowing yourself – it is really about getting rid of what has obscured the truth, the reality and the clarity for so long. 2019 is calling you.
